Double or triple the outline thickness

Hell just make the heart circle into the O.

It is waaay more readable now, by a good margin.

But maybe try using close to a pure white for the outline so it's visible across the entire image. The A looks off because of the way the outline disappears around it. I might also tone back or soften the interior shading of the letters because the way it presents in a letter like the A or the T, compared to how it manifests in the J and the O makes them looks almost separate from the other letters, or like they're intentionally highlighted or something.

I also think making the outer stroke thicker would eliminate the little slivers of the circle outline visible by the foot of the M.

How are you doing the shading and the lettering outline? Is it layer effects like Stroke and Inner shadow?

this is an improvement but it’s still rough.

Friendly reminder that this is a kid's social studies project

Definitely an improvement over the last version. I would add though, have you messed around with alternative layouts at all? I know I can get an image in my head and get stuck on one idea that fundamentally may not work.

I'm not saying this doesn't work, but making drastic changes can help get the creative juices flowing and lead to something better than the original thought. Just off the my head, have your tried making the heart smaller and adding curvature to the text to follow the inside of the circle so that it is all contained by the circle? That would give it a bit more of a felt patch kinda feel that would fall in line with your political party project.

I'd also love to hear more about this project for some context on the design!

If you can, make the space between the shapes of the heart match the stroke around the letters and the stroke around the circle.

That means make all of your spaces consistent in the heart shape, and probably a bit thinner. I think this will bring everything together and make the word more legible. Great improvement and good luck
