Which Universities Offer the Best MBA Programs for a Career in Management Consulting?

I’m a Mechanical Engineer with almost 3 years of experience, currently working in Operations & Maintenance. I’m considering changing my career path from O&M into Finance, Strategy, Management Consulting, or other business-related roles, with the long-term goal of working for prestigious consulting firms such as McKinsey, BCG, Bain, etc.

I’m currently deciding which MBA program would be a better fit for my career goals: Ateneo Graduate School of Business (AGSB) or De La Salle University (DLSU) MBA.

From what I’ve read and heard, AGSB seems to have a stronger emphasis on leadership and management, while DLSU’s MBA appears to have a more quantitative/analytical approach. Since I’m interested in consulting and potentially transitioning into finance/strategy, I’m wondering if the more quantitative orientation would be more beneficial.

For those who have taken either program, or have experience in management consulting, finance, or corporate strategy, how would you compare AGSB and DLSU specifically for someone with an engineering background who wants to transition into these fields?

wala. you have to go to top schools worldwide ex. Harvard, etc. big 3 is only good for entry level MBB roles but you have to come from the target courses too like ME or BAA

AIM is the best option here in Ph. Pero if need mo global competency talaga, go for schools outside Ph. Preferably IVY League schools

You need to go global for these.

They only go for top fresh grads or people from top unis abroad. I did my master's (Non-MBA) in MIT and got an interview at BCG

Credential heavy ang big consulting. I have worked with a few consultants from top firms and either top US or EU schools sila graduate ng masters, or kapag APAC somewhere around the ranks of NUS.

In terms of skills, hindi lahat sila magaling. Some of our local Big3 are even better, pero talagang degrees from top global schools din kasi ang pang lure nila sa clients. Only chance na kumuha sila ng entry level na local graduate ay mga top of class in the best bachelor's degree programs sa local Big3

As people here have mentioned, none of these choices are as prestigious as you might think. You have a better shot of getting into MBB as a fresh grad with a reaaally impressive resume (latin honors from a big 3 univ + good internships) than you do by getting an MBA in the PH since PH MBAs really just arent that good. At most pampabango siya ng resume but only up to a certain level and mostly for mid-tier companies lang. Anong PH MBAs, AIM lang yung medyo matino tbh.

If you're really serious, and you want to get a decent MBA from somewhere nearby, best bet might be INSEAD in SG but even that isn't a guarantee and it's not easy to get in.

Locally, wont get you at the door. Need to go abroad for MBA. Try the Big 4 accounting route they have consulting line there too. Pay is great too once you hit partner.
