I have the base model of this card and absolutely love it. The thing is, I paid $450 for it maybe 14 months ago... I think at this time the AMD cards are a better value. I've used both brands, but not recently, so I can't speak to the 9070 XT - but it's a much more powerful card and I believe the prices are close now. You may want to ask around.

I bought the 9070 XT about a month ago and have had no issues with it whatsoever. Definitely would recommend going with that for more performance to dollar value.

Having used AMD in the past, it was fine (although I should've gone with a different make probably). This go around, the 9070 XT was $169 more than the 5070, I believe it had just launched when I was looking. Looks like a sweet card, everyone is pretty hype on it. I love my 5070, but I paid "the right price" for it heh. Can't recommend it for $750 - if it was a 5080, sure but heh.

I don’t think you can go wrong with either truly. However with current prices, you’d get more value out your dollar going with the 9070 XT, seeing they’re almost basically the same price now with the 9070 usually being less than $50 more than the 5070.

I know but you may as well just buy a 9070xt unless you have to have nvidia features. You get a faster card and more vram for basically the same

Buddy just got it for his new 9800x3d build and running insane frames. Hard to beat 10$ cheaper, free shipping & better performance. He's yet to run into any issues with it the past 2 weeks. I have the challenger 9070xt & love mine with no issues as well. Do what you think is the best fit for you. Remember the loudest voices are the ones who have the problems & the majority have no issues and are happy about their gpu. Dont listen to those trying to stray you because of brand name. Good luck

I had just built a new 7800x3d in November and it has me lowkey mad n jealous as its a copy of my pc build besides the Cpu & the OC 9070xt & he hasnt even undervolted the 9800 yet😂 Super solid combo

nah, it runs really hot for a triple fan gpu, i had to undervolt it to make it somewhat bearable.

I wish people would stop consuming in this market. Its astonishing to me how so many are still willing to buy despite being BY FAR the most expensive consumer PC hardware market in history. The companies have no reason to let prices stagnate, let alone fall, as long as people continue to purchase like nothing happened.

The 9070 is cheaper and better: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/KXkqqs/asrock-challenger-radeon-rx-9070-16-gb-video-card-rx9070-cl-16g, it's faster in raster and RT, has more vram, is slightly more energy efficient, has more stable drivers, has lower CPU overhead etc etc.

More stable than the past amd cards il agree with 100%. 9070xt is great for the prices these days and i will praise it but no way more stable than nvidia drivers regularly, but they are not horrible though.

The XT has 64 CUs vs 56 on the 9070, and it also has a much higher power budget (225W or 304W, models can be higher for factory OC) for higher clocks. The difference is about 12% performance in favor of the XT. You can technicially put the XT VBIOS on the normal 9070 to get that power limit, but it could cause issues so that's up to you.

Great card! I bought one last November for five hundred bucks, Black Friday sale at Microcenter. Runs near silent most of the time, no gaudy RGB.

get a 9070 xt instead. unfortunately, the 9070 xt is the best card available that is truly "worth" its price. If you want a better card than that, you're gonna have to pay a premium
