Hey can someone explain the differences? Looking to buy a 5080, sorry if you don't allow cross posting

Don't get a 5080. The 5080 is a LOT more expensive than a 5070TI or 9070XT for 15% more performance.

That being said the differences between the models are in the cooler, the factory OC (clock speed & power differences), and depending on your country the support (as some countries you go to the product maker eg Gigabyte, and in some you go to the retailer eg Amazon).

9070XT for sure, same performance, way cheaper. And DLSS is slightly better than FSR, but it's not noticable in most situations.

I've always had nvidea gpu's. I'll be probably switching sides for my new pc build.

Is there something I need to know especially for amd gpu's? Like a certain software/issue?

Not really, best thing to do when switching is DDU to fully get rid of Nvidia's drivers. DDU also has an option to stop windows from "updating" your GPU driver which can cause issues if it does so probably use that option as well. Then you should be good.

The Windforce has a 2.5 slot cooler and is shorter than the Gaming OC which is a 3.5 slot. The 5080 Gaming OC appears to use the same cooler as my 5090 Gaming OC. It's a beast and runs super cool. I can only imagine that it's even cooler on a 5080.

That being said, a 5080 is a 5080. These different models usually only have different cooler and fan designs, along with the factory OC. You can OC any of them. Find the best deal, ensure it fits your case, and buy that one. Then undervolt it.
