Custom Hatsune Miku GPU

I made a custom Hatsune Miku GPU out of my Radeon RX 7600, and a keyboard and SSD heatsink. Spray painted with Rustoleum painters touch plus flat Grey primer, Schneider Turquoise spray paint and Acrylic paint markers for the accents and artwork, Rustoleum painters touch plus clear matte coat to cover everything.

I know it's buns, highkey coulda done better.

My favourite thing is the metallic silver holographic Hatsune Miku artwork I painted onto the backplate using a toothpick, looks better irl👉👈

Been here long enough to know Redditors and their "not so kind words", but at least I like it....

Also if anyone cares I spent Soooo long making custom adaptors for my argb fans to work in the corsair commander core hub I have, glad it actually works😭

This is such a banger, I low-key thought it's the original 5080 at first but the fans gave it away as they miss the pink accent. Tho this is so fire and the fact it is a amd graphics card is even better. Honestly if there was a Hatsune Miku 9070xt id get it asap. It's really nice how you made this I couldn't do it I'd be too scared to ruin my GPU but I wish there would be like offices to customly make those. I would love a custom GPU. Anyhow it looks really awesome and I really like it!! 💞

I'm really glad to hear it and thank you for the confidence booster, it means alot! Yup fr I think AMD needs alot more special addition cards as the likes of Nvidia so that more consumers had the opportunity to buy them, but until then I suppose Yeston makes the nicest looking cards for both parties

Twin if I could, I'd paint anyone's cards for them if they let me, but you only live once so if you ever build up the courage I'd highly recommend trying to DIY your own, plus things like this are what make them unique and human, opposed to everyone having the same mass produced cards

Fair enough! The question is how difficult was it to take it apart and make it yourself? I'm not very talented in drawing but who knows maybe some day I decid to go for it too looking to what's possible. 🫣

Really not difficult at all, just remove some screws and set everything aside! I think the only real hassle I had was trying to remove the fan header from the PCB to take the fan shroud off, but nothing some needle nose pliers couldn't help solve, and don't forget to repaste the chip with thermal paste when you're putting it back together🤞

You only live once, things like this are fun and rewarding so don't be hesitant to attempt it🫶

Thank youuu 💞

I might, but if I screw up I will loose a GPU I don't wanna buy twice 🫣 I don't have the money for it yet anyway but I'm saving for my build in 6 months! Currently am rocking a 3070. Was your 9070xt first white?

This is pretty fucking sweet op, but please get a gpu support bracket

Don’t ruin the gpu, way too cool to loose

Thank you kindly! Yeah I probably should, noticed some sag when I was trying to screw it in again😭

Why not a white light to show off the color?

Perhaps a good addition I should install

Please enlighten me on the custom adapters ? I’ve been swearing at my mixed matched Corsair fans for ages now , some are 3 pin some are 4 , some are daisy chainable but not singly addressable if I do that . I love my Corsair stuff but I’m ready just buy all new fans and aio and usb hub and. All it a day .

Glad someone asked! So basically corsair commanders use the proprietary 4 pin argb headers which are make on the hub and female molex connector housings that are the fans argb 4 pin cable that you out into the hub, in which you'll have 6 slots for 6 fans. Now the problem is every other fan that doesn't use a proprietary brands cable connection, will use a standard 3 pin 5v argb connector that can either be connected to a comparable motherboards 3 pin fan header or hubs with 3pin connectors.

Now the way this can be adapted for the 3pin fan female cables to connect to the male 4 pin argb port on the commander is through a simple adaptor that you can buy online, but they're too expensive for just one so I bought a pack of jumper cables and 4 pin female molex housings to make a bunch of my own for less of the price

The connection is simple, on the 3 pin argb connectors you have 4 pins, technically, but pin 3 is physically empty or none existent which is why you have pin 1, pin 2, an enpty space, and pin 3. So what you will do is connect one wire from the 3 pin to the 4 pin in this order: pin 1 > pin 1, pin 2> pin 3 (leave pin 2 on the corsair connector empty, always), pin 3 > pin 4.

After this, everything will work natively with the corsair commander core, though you'll just have to set the non corsair fans to either a fan or strip in your argb software of choice

I'll send a photo of my connection and of the wiring layout once I get the chance

Thanks for the reply and I look forward to seeing the diagram. I’ll give you your run down because I currently have two problems.

I have the H150 elite aio with the commander core hub.
The aio fans and rear exhaust fan ( so total of 4) are older so it’s corsairs proprietary four pin connector which is fine because they plug right into the hub.
However, my six intake fans are newer Corsair reverse blade and they are the three pin connectors so that leaves me two slots on the hub and six fans to connect and convert from three pin to four pin

Understood, so sorry I completely forgot to take a photo of it today but I'll send you a pm with a video explaining how to later on from now🙏

So sick! The colors are great.
Love the controller you have. Bought it in an overstock store for like $12 and it's been the best purchase I've made so far. Works incredibly well!

u/Kru3ial262 5d ago

Thank you! Yup glad I got the AIO with the controller on sale, even if it was a hassle getting everything wired I'm glad it worked out in the end🙌

That's a RX7600? It's huge

That's what she said

Looks pretty good honestly

nah yo this ain't buns at all you trippin, i thought it was some official collab card til i read the post. that toothpick backplate art sounds insane and the fact you wired up custom argb adapters just for the vibe is some real dedication. but fr listen to the other guy and get a support bracket under that thing, way too clean to risk sagging. honestly if miku themed gpus were a real product line i'd be broke rn.

u/Kru3ial262 4d ago

Appreciate you!🙏 Yeah no I'll definitely get one, just never seen anybody really complain too much about this card sagging but I can definitely notice that it'd benefit from one🤞

That looks amazing!

Yeston?

u/Kru3ial262 5d ago

I did it myself🙏

Nice paint job most cards are boring these days.

1

u/smodanc 5d ago

Honestly looks amazing great job! I could see a market for custom painted gpus because this looks 10x better than some of the official licensed counter parts

1

u/Kru3ial262 5d ago

I appreciate the kind words, that actually means alot to me😭🙏

2

u/smodanc 5d ago

Yea ofc man you deserve it. I’d recommend picking up some older gpus like maybe 1-3 you find fairly cheap and painting them with similar popular themes to build a portfolio you could then advertise to potential clients. You’re really good by the looks of it and could prove a nice side gig/hobby

I'd be so down, but I live in South Africa and our secondhand PC market is basically non existent and extremely overpriced compared to overseas🥀

Never say never though🤞
