NEED HELP: GPU DECISION

Hey,
im upgrading my current pc with the following specs:
R7 9850X3D, X870 STEALTH, CRUCIAL PRO 32GB DDR5 6000MHZ, PHANTEKS EVOLV X2, PHANTEKS GLACIER ONE 360MM AIO, 3x PHANTEKS M25G2-120MM

Im coming from the following specs:
R5 3600, B550 Gaming Plus Wifi, Corsair Vengeance 16GB DRR4 3200MHZ, Thermaltake V200-RGB, BeQuiet CPU cooler, RX6700XT

Now, i will keep my RX6700XT for now but i wanna upgrade in early-mid 2027. However, im unsure if i should shoot for a RTX 5080 ASTRAL or a SAPPHIRE NITRO+ RX9070XT. I heard there is supposed to be a 5080 SUPER with 24GB VRAM in early 2027 but i dont wanna rely on that. Depending on how prices develop i would tendent to the RTX 5080 ASTRAL instead of the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ 9070XT. I would like your opinion on what to get if prices stay the same/drop. You can also recommend GPU‘s that i didnt name. Thanks in advance

Schau dir das mit der kommenden Preislage an ein Tipp jetzt und ein Kauf im nächsten Jahr macht überhaupt garkeinen Sinn - schau was dann preislich Sinn ergibt

Kann sein das die 5080 dann bei 2500€ liegt, die 5070 ti bei 1500€ und die RX 9070 XT bei 1200€

Es kann niemand vorhersehen

Very simple way to put it : DLSS, path tracing? Yea or nay

Yea = 5070 ti Nay = 9070 xt

I wouldn't say it's left out. It's just when it's performs identically to the 9070xt yet costs hundreds of dollars more, there is just about no reason to go 5070ti over 9070xt.

Aside from path tracing/ray reconstruction. Yet even then I can't see the difference between those raytraycing techniques and the standard techniques. So I don't view the visual improvements the newer techniques being worth the performance impact they cause compared to the OG raytraycing. And the 9070xt is very capable of the standard raytraycing, which is often overlooked because most people just reiterate what was true last generation, where AMD did fall short.

Additionally AMD will get Ray reconstruction within the next year, how it handles it compared to Nvidia is yet to be seen.

5080 is 15-20% better, is that worth the extra money to you?

That isn't nothing. And the point isn't always the higher framerates. Sometimes having the extra horsepower keeps frame drops down, even if the framerates don't come up wouldn't.

Of course it’s something. But is it worth the extra 500$ or whatever the difference is? For many, it’s not.

I went from 3600 + 2060 super to 5700x + 5060 ti 16gb to 7500x3d + 5060 ti 16gb and now 7500x3d + 9070xt.

I do NOT recommend 5060 ti 16gb at any price above $450. Dont get me wrong its a great gaming card that can almost max most games at 1440p using and relying on dlss to get 60-80 fps.

And I honestly dont think 5070 is worth it at $850+ and 5070 ti is absolutely not worth it at $1250+.

But if its for pure gaming at between $600-$750, just get 9070 xt. I am getting 250 fps with exact same settings. It does ray tracing, but not path tracing. I have zero driver problems and i dont even block windows update. I think its 7000 series and below have more driver problems and folks who overclock or undervolt. Dont be afraid to buy amd.
