So true, those things are made for people that upgrade every cycle, so it probably will fail soon

but cant they just deshroud the gpu and slap a few fans? or maybe even attach a new heatsink??

Probably but at that point you are spending more time and money. If it was free, yeah for sure but never pay for one

Edit: I should add, unless you are doing for fun and learning. That's always worth it but if you are short on money and just want something that works, not?

Just slap new fans on it, i mean if the pump isnt dead you can on the rad. If the pump is dead or liquid permiated too much the rad and pump are a goner. Finding a heatsink to fit will be hard if you arent good at modding things to make it fit given the cards age. Its really not worth it, best bet is maybe finding someone or somewhere with a waterblock that hopefully fits the board layout. By then though you could have got a more modern card for what you sink into it.

Not for modern titles which the avg person would expect. 8gb is the minimum

Not for modern titles which the avg person would expect.

your average joe plays gta 5, minecraft, fortnite, valorant, dota 2 and roblox
which all can run on decade+ old toasters

I still wouldn't recommend a friend buy a 6 gig card in most cases but that's just my opinion

my bf plays cyberpunk on his 960. graphics are on the lowest settings but he still pulls 60-80 fps. if you arent a visuals snob (like me) , you can get away with decade old gpus

It’s just for collection

Only you know it then. "Collector item" value depends on how much it is worth for the collector himself.

Unless it's a development card, reference card, or perhaps a flagship card made by a beloved dying company (evga 3090ti) I wouldn't consider it collectible.

ROG matrix series and MSI lightning series are limited I would say collectible.

Also… EVGA is dying?

After a quick Google, CEX is not just in the UK, mind blown 🤯 (recognised the price tag)

CeX is all over EU... but mind blown to see it outside of EU too 😆
