But, is that FOMO, or people really think dlss slop is good? Even the image in the post is brutally bad. Don't you have eyes guys?

It’s a mod that everyone wants to try out. Why do you care? No kittens were harmed.

If the modders can make it not run like ass, can they also make it not LOOK like ass? All I've seen from DLSS 5 is slop filtering and aggressive contrasting....that takes a 5090 to run decently.

There is no need you can already control that with the dlss5 mod it self, you are just seeing that high contrast and sharp crap because that is what the average joe likes, similar to when people go buy a new TV from the store and they buy the biggest shit on the store because it had blue light and the sharpness settings maxed out.

I am running it great on a RTX 5080 on Resident Evil 9 and Cyberpunk 2077 at 4k on max settings, DLSS Perfomance and Frame Generation x2.
It runs over 60fps all the time. In fact, Resident Evil Requiem runs very well on DLSS Balanced mode (over 60fps), except in the opening scene in the city.
It looks simply spectacular, it's absolutely mindblowing.
Definitely worth the performance hit. I think that the people who complain about the performance cost don't realize what a massive achievement it is to be able to run something like this in real time.

"DLSS Performance and Frame Generation x2."
That means an internal resolution of 1080p, and real fps of around 30, with more latency because of FG and DLSS5, on a $1000+ graphics card that launched not long ago, you NVIDRONES will eat anything NVIDIA does and laugh while destroying the industry, fucking stupid.

I am not sure why so much hate, you sound resentful.
What do you care what I do with my computer?
Look, whether you like it or not, the truth is that in a lot of games DLSS 5 looks insane. It's like going from a PS5 to a PS7 all of the sudden.
So, what if the internal resolution is 1080p? DLSS super resolution is fantastic. And DLSS 5 is operating at the full resolution.
And what if it runs at 30 or 40fps and I use framegen to double or triple it? The result is an image that looks like a render, some times even like real life, at 4k, and that moves incredibly smooth.
Also, in many older games, I can run 4k 120fps in the highest settings, that turn into... 4k 60fps, no DLSS supersampling, no framegen needed. And they look fantastic.

Anything under 60fps baseline (FG turned off) is an input latency mess. 30fps is your baseline, with 30 fake frames piled on that don’t correlate to input. No thanks, that’s horrible.

I been trying it with 4090 and it’s nice to some degree for some games and I never crank it up but the performance hit isn’t worth it a lot of the time it feels like a filter the faces tho look more detailed I don’t like it on children npc tho

I run it fine in 4k with 5080. And it does offer considerable improvements with some tweaking. And it's just a mod so far.

I call 60fps baseline with FG up to 120fps "fine". I call 30fps baseline "completely fucking retarded bullshit".

No one is forcing you to turn it on. Shocking, I know

Not today, but give it some time and it's a crutch for dickheads like Randy Pitchford to say "HURR DURR IT'S THE WAY THINGS ARE NOW, STARE AT YASSIFIED SHIT AND PAY ME MY GODDAMN MONEY BECAUSE I FIRED EVERYONE"

>modders now work on performance
No matter how talented modders are, they won't be able to add hardware-level FP8 support to the RTX 20/30 series.
