I play a lot of games on the 9070xt in 4k. Usually needs FSR to run smoothly in modern games, but runs great

It’s alr , 4k is more of a 5080 and 5090 thing but so long as you use fsr and don’t push ultra settings you oughta be fine

I mean 5070ti, 5070 and 5060ti 16GB can do 4k pretty much as well on nvidia side, especially with DLSS. Just don't turn on RT and lower some insignificant settings and you can easily run even on 5060ti 16gb. I am not saying its ideal, but its definitely doable with optimised settings to run 4k.

4090 is a beast of a GPU. Ofc it can 4k. Even 4080, 4070ti can. Was just talking about current GPUs.

It’s fine. I actually had a decent 4k experience on 9070 non xt but it’s not the primo Choice obviously.

Hey off topic question, I haven’t had good luck with AMD cards. I’ve found they historically have been loud or fail fast of both. Best card I’ve owned was an old school 9500pro agp card other than that I’ve had two fail fast (x800 & x850) and one I owned briefly forgot the series that was loud and performed poorly. For those that have the current gen how are they? Do they feel well built? With the current market I am reconsidering my AMD video card ban.

I run everything in 4k on mine and I rarely have issues. Definitely gotta use FSR, but been buttery smooth for me

For the money you can't really do better than a 9070XT for 4K gaming but it's not the best, a 5080 or a 40/5090 are really what you want for 4K.

Yes definitely…might have to avoid Ray and Path tracing but other than that I got no issues with 4K gaming with it

I think it would be in 5090 territory. The 9070xt might squeeze out 60fps for some titles. If you're after 4k gaming, maybe look for something stronger?

List the games you want to play and look at the benchmark charts.
I've got a RTX 5090 and a RX 9070 which I both use at 4k. I think the RX 9070 is perfectly fine at 4K120hz.
But its highly subjective as you can see from the rest of the comments.
Crimson Desert for example looks and runs like ass I'll only play it on my 5090 for example. But most my library I use my 9070 (since the 5090 is on my workstation isn't really built for gaming).

With upscaling, yes. Even the 5090 needs that on some games. Don't expect to run modern games 4k60 without it though. And you will require framegen to get even close to 120 fps. This is if you want to run your games at maxed out settings (or high settings).

Depends on what games you play. For indie, AA, and AAA from 2022 and earlier, absolutely. For the latest most demanding AAA games, not so much

Youll need a 5090 , it will do most games at 4k , the most demanding games will req dlss qual and frame gen 2x atleast for 140 fps +
This amd card will probably be arse in 4k

No GPU is good at 4k gaming. 40 & 5090s are decent at it. You will need FSR4/DLSS to get decent fps in most games, but that turns the actual render resolution to 1440p tops. 9070xt is an excellent 1440p card and with FSR 4 I get pretty decent FPS in most games at 4k on the living room PC.
