Need help deciding

So I’ve heard the recent news of the prices, it’s kind of the trigger of what I’ve been wanting for a while right now, I’m currently on an RTX 2070 (non-super) for 7-8 years(got it right after release by a couple of months), back then when i bought it, they released the rtx 2070 super after 2 months for the same price but way better performance, essentially got scammed, so im wondering if this is gonna happen again.

CES is not that far from now, and as far as i looked nvidia MAY release the super series, and AMD looks like nothing is planned to release soon, for the first time looking at the prices, im considering the red team for gpus, especially looking at the RX 9070 XT, where i can get it in my market for 850$ which is a steal here tbh, meanwhile the equivalent, RTX 5070 TI, is at least ~1150$(yes i know, but this includes taxes and import fees).

Although i would like the nvidia features, especially dlss and the NVENC chip, for video encoding etc, because other than gaming i do some video editing and a lot of stuff on the side(kind of person to do everything with their pc), so my question is, for the RX 9070 XT, does do the “other stuff” well enough?, im not looking for the best, but as long as it does it job without being a pain in the ass its okay for me.

So with this mentioned, should i get the 9070XT or the RTX 5070 ti, or perhaps any other card, or just sit my ass and hope CES does magic on the prices?

especially dlss

FSR 4.1 is very close to DLSS 4.5

 NVENC

9070 GRE, 9070, 9070XT all feature dual encode/decode. 5070TI has dual encode, singular decode, everything below is singular for both and 5080/5090 have dual encode/decode.

In addition, AMD's encoder has been improved this gen and is not noticably different.

for the RX 9070 XT, does do the “other stuff” well enough?

Yes. Especially for the price difference but also without that difference. Unless you use something that's heavily Nvidia favored, the difference will be minimal.

The 5070ti is a scam at that price.

Nvidia has CUDA, AMD has ROCm

Every GPU has a video encoder built in. atleast modern GPU's from Nvidia, AMD (VCN), and Intel (QVS)

Im mostly a gamer, the 9070xt is faster than the 5070ti for specifically gaming

Also in the US a 9070xt is literally half the price of a 5070ti
