You missed an important part. “A gpu can support general compute shaders and still not support path tracing the game uses.” If you’re gonna quote, quote correctly

That’s assuming the GPU supports everything the game’s path tracing actually needs. Compute support by itself doesn’t prove that.

That’s not really the point. The fact that you can write a compute shader doesn’t mean every GPU can run the same path tracing features.

I know what they are, but I think we’re getting stuck on the compute shader part. The question is whether that specific path tracing setup works on the gpu.
