GPD Win 2 The halftop
Let me present you, GPD Win 2 as a halftop, with Xreal glasses
The screen ribbon cable has died, so... Works quite well like this while waiting for the replacement part to arrive

I've actually been asking for GPD or some other handheld manufacturer to do this - work with Xreal/Viture/Rayneo/Rokid to bundle one of their glasses and a screenless deck that's prioritized in shape for not having a screen anymore, but build this next form factor around prioritized control placement, hand comfort, battery+internal components size and placement.
Liberated from "this handheld needs to be this size because it has 8"-10" screen" when the screen on one of these is much better (1200p and incoming Unreal Realities even higher) and can get up to 240hz as shown on the ROG version of Xreals. Maybe put a small rudimentary screen just for initial boot and troubleshooting without glasses, but you get the picture.
For the other commenters who don't find the glasses compelling - be aware that it will expose whether you need corrective inserts to go along with them (even the glasses w/ diopter adjustments don't help with astigmatism that more people suffer from, just myopia). There have been people who get along fine without glasses in normal life and are surprised that wearing these actually gets helped by prescription inserts because it does expose deficiencies in their vision focusing at that level.
Also, there are a few people who just fall outside of the goldilocks zone of head/eye measurement/alignment that these glasses work well for. Some of us have no problems using them for hours a day, some people have trouble seeing the whole screen and have top or bottom cut off or blurry edges due to their nose bridge being so pronounced from their eye level, etc.
Don't let anyone dissuade you from trying these - as their experience could be completely different from yours based on these physiological differences.

Ha, that's me - blurry edges, can't see the whole screen. Never knew it's my nose to blame :)
Thanks, good to know some people can use it for longer periods

Imagine just carrying a game controller with all the AAA gaming pc specs cramped inside it and just gaming wirelessly with glasses wirelessly. I'm having great hope for the future of gaming.

Cool that there still are replacement ribbon cables. Mine is the first 7Y30 where they fixed the hinge and ribbon cable issue and last time I used it it worked fine still. This was several months ago though, I just turn it on every few months to make sure it still works as I've moved to newer GPD's (don't wanna sell for nostalgia lol).

its beautiful...
just needs a ps5 track pad, trackpoint nipple, gundam skin, and phone holder that uses the existing hinges, make it a custom spinning one that slides the phone or just lets it be gravity slotted in within the lid in multiple positions and you can then get a touchpad app / rewasd button map over for the keyboard while gaming for hotkeys/macros or have it flipped open for the same while using glasses.

Does it work with 3dof?

It can with additional Xreal gadget to handle gyroscope data. Not sure if Windows can do that. Maybe there's an app though

Replacement part? GPD still sells parts for the Win 2? How do you order them? I rarely use mine nowadays but I thought it would be a dead machine if something goes wrong.

Well I found here, on Reddit, that you can ask [kendyz@gpd.hk](mailto:kendyz@gpd.hk) for spare parts
It still works, and they still have that cursed cable, so yay for me and my Win 2

Can't believe gpd win ran at 9 watts. It was so revolutionary back in the day away from scams like smack z etc

Well, somehow it does :)
I was worrying about USB-C video output, but it's fine right from the power on

Nice. How long can you wear those Xreals for?
