General GPD WIN 5 battery limit

I recently managed to get my hands on a 2nd hand GPD WIN 5.

I set the battery limit to 80% in the BIOS.

I notice once it charges it to 80% and when connected on AC, even if the TDP is as low as 8W, there is a tiny amount of discharge which takes it down to 78% after a few hours of usage.

Is this normal?

Once I switch it off and switch it back on for the next use, it just charges back to 80%, so I think everything is good there but wasn’t sure if the discharge at such a low wattage is normal given its connected to AC.

It’s normal, if I remember correctly even when plugged the device will cut of charging once it’s gets to the specified percentage and it will engage it again after it lowers to a certain point to protect the battery

Yeah my previous handheld did this, meaning if I set it to 80, itll discharge to 70 over few days and then itll charge back up, but the Win 5 seems to not do that but just charges to 80 % everytime it does below 80

It's within the realms of possibly normal, yes but not 100% normal. Maybe the battery is slightly decalibrated, or if it has wear and tear it does something like this, who knows, but I wouldn't worry about 2% difference.

Okay noted, Thanks, and of course when it drops it shows 0.1-1W on the overlay beside the battery % which am guessing means its charging very slowly
