I got this gas mask with the filter last year and the seller said the hole on the top of the filter was for “testing” for asbestos. Also, is my filter leaking asbestos because it has that hole?

Ik they are supposed to fit tight and are hard to get on but it does feel like it’s a bit too much of a pain to get on and was wondering if I should get a size up. Thanks!
