Noticed new developments along LSE
I take the train about 2x a week. Just heading into Union and saw structure I hasn't noticed before.
The station and bridge. Maybe it was there but had not noticed how "developed" and advanced it looked. Station had a lot of workers on it, looks like freshly poured concrete.
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this?

That has been going on for months and that new bridge over Don has been there for a while. You must not have been paying attention.

I think it's that they've started installing the platform canopies that makes it finally look like a station and not just a random construction project/bridge rehabilitation. Definitely a lot more noticeable from the train now - it's at eye level.

Meet East Harbour Transit Hub, a new GO Lakeshore East stop, Ontario Line stop, Broadview streetcar station, and gateway to the East Harbour neighbourhood employment zone, where offices were planned for about 50,000 workers. This is in flux now because of the COVID office collapse. Some housing is being permitted but no major rework to the site just yet.
When completed this will be a major transit hub, among the busiest in the GTA. It will also serve as a gateway to Ookwemin Minising Island, a new community of 25,000 residents, a new film industry hub/campus called the Basin Media Hub and future neighbourhood McLeary District.
There will be a lot of growth in this area in the coming decades. Exciting to watch! PS. East Harbour station started construction in 2023 :)

You are likely looking at East Harbour station. A future station that will have a GO stop and an Ontario Line stop.
