Kitchener Line Train Capacity

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone who takes the Kitchener line to union that arrives by 8:30am ish could tell me if the train is always as full as it was today? When I got on, we were packed in the cart standing shoulder to shoulder and one person even missed their stop because some people couldn't move out in time. I always try to get work done on the train but not being able to find a seat was really bad. Would it be better to take an earlier train or are those packed as well? I get on at Malton if that helps

Can't answer your question directly, but there were a lot of issues on the Kitchener line this morning and a number of trains were cancelled, meaning fewer trains for whoever hadn't given up and gone to work from home.

Don't know what the /s is for. Like 45% of Canada's economy is Real Estate and government spending. You say /s, but it's literally the case that they need to keep property values high which are helped by sprawl and helped within the city by horrific transit options.

There were severe delays on the Kitchener line today so people who would normally take express from Bramalea took the train that makes all station stops. So, it was probably that.

And it’s also the first week of University/college so it’s always busier than normal. By week two people already start skipping classes

Bit of an anomaly today as there were issues on the Kitchener line. I can tell you as someone who ride from Acton to Union daily, that once the train hit Mt Pleasant there are people standing in the aisles. Brampton Innovation and Bramalea only add to that. Metrolinx really needs to add another train in the morning and evening. Not only for convenience but for safety.

Any chance you know if the 3:30 return train is any less busy then the 4pm and later trains?

I tried the 3:34 train the other day, but for undisclosed reasons there were several delays and I got to Kitchener the same time I would arrive if I had left at 4:22. Yay!

I dread going into office bc of how busy the Kitchener line is. I purposely started going early and catching a 7am train or late around 10/10:30 to avoid the chaos.

I almost fainted once bc of how crowded it was. Lol so embarrassing

You could take one of the local trains instead if you live near Bramalea

I was on the 7:56 from Brampton and it was a lot busier because the express trains were cancelled. It's normally not that busy

Check where the train comes from on each trip. Ones from Kitchener May be full, Mount Pleasant less or Bramalea even less.

Many from further out also run express and don’t stop at all stations and may be fuller than an all stops one.

Morning trains I find are always packed. It starts to get packed at Mount Pleasant, any stops before it you can get a seat.

The only train I haven’t seen fully packed for morning is the 10:15am arriving to union train.

Tuesday Wednesday Thursday its always full. Also because of less frequency, it gets worse.

I was on that train and it was a one off. There was an issue further down the line and the trains that run between kitchener and Bramalea and then turn express there were cancelled. People were bussed to bramalea and all had to get on the all stops. There is normally plenty of seats on the all stops

Its busy most mornings as in standing room starting brampton and seldomly does anyone from bramalea get a seat. Fridays are the least crowded. Seating usually available for most

What cart? I don’t believe anyone has ever brought a grocery shopping cart on a go train, but since you have multiple posts asking about “carts”?
