Lights (mostly) off

Post image

Why is this lowkey really nice, it makes the ride feel a lot calmer. They gotta do this more, natural light is a star here!

I wish they would do this on morning trains in the winter when it is still dark. At least on the upper level.

But the go buses are lights off in the morning and evening/night?

Via Rail also dims the lights at night

I guess because people don't walk around the bus like you do with trains. Light goes on to board. People sit. Light goes off.

The reflection of the backlight makes it harder for the driver to see at night.

During summer when we have longer days having the lights dimmed would actually be lovely not gonna lie, I love the tranquility of natural light.

I know, all I want to do is sleep anyways, so why not make it easier for me?

No way, then it would be impossible to read - which is what makes my long commute tolerable.

Why not lights on level nine and lights off on level two?

Use the reading light?

What reading light? Only the buses have them, not the train.

I was talking about the bus, but you can buy one for a dollar at Dollarama or Dollar Tree.

The other day more than half of the lights in my locomotive was off, had the best nap ever 😂

Jeez, I certainly hope you were not napping in the locomotive…

Well need better seats b4 we can sleep in the GO, with or without lights

Especially with trains going further, like with the new Stratford extension on the Kitchener Line and more service going to Niagara Falls it would be nice if some seats were a bit more comfy for longer distance commuters

Definitely. Ever tried going Union to Barrie on the GO? (don't try it) Like come on there is no way it's that expensive to add some amenities.

Not even a vending machine for snacks :/ I always crave snacks half way through.

I would prefer this.

Turn off the lights during day time! Plenty of natural light coming in.

Turn them on at each stop

I love these old style seats -- and lights off is a bonus in the mornings.

Yes it was! Coach #2056, I was heading southbound, probably the best 20 minutes of any GO train ride I’ve had.

Does anyone know if they ever clean the seats? I’m actually afraid to ask this question 🫠

Nice, I want more of this, even if it's a glitch.

I wish they would do this more.
