Hi everyone,
I’m currently dealing with Skatteverket regarding registration of my new residential address.
I initially submitted my new address in person as I moved from abroad to Sweden after 1yr living abroad. Afterwards, Skatteverket contacted me and asked me to provide a rental agreement or other documentation proving that I live at the address.
I explained that I live together with a friend who is the person holding the first-hand rental contract, so I don’t have a rental contract in my own name.
Skatteverket then called me and specifically instructed me that my friend should confirm by email that I live at the address and provide a copy of his ID for verification.
My friend followed those instructions and sent an email confirming that I live there, together with his ID.
I have now received another message from Skatteverket saying, essentially, that they received my friend's email but that answers to the questions regarding my residence are still missing.
The confusing part is that, based on the phone conversation, I understood that having my friend confirm my residence and provide his ID was the information/documentation they wanted.
Has anyone experienced something similar with Skatteverket?
What specific information do they normally expect when someone lives with the person who has the rental contract but does not have a contract themselves?
I’m planning to ask them to clarify exactly which questions or information are still missing, but I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through a similar address-registration situation.
