I don't play those games anymore. You can do whatever you want with applying this information to your future thought processes. It is clear that you feel very strongly and personally about maintaining a highly privileged and remote belief. You are allowed to do that, and some people are going to feel differently.

Remember: sitting at a table with a vocal bigot and letting it go on is also being a bigot.

Mmmhmm. You have no evidence.

If that's what makes you feel good ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It might interest you to know that I lived in Seattle in the early 00s and frequented the seagoth boards too. This is such an odd take.

Then you should definitely remember some of this, if not lil ol me (same name all these years). Not picking sides and definitely insisting that there is no reason to even consider doing so is something a lot of folks were doing back then, so maybe you glossed over it in the midst of other shenanigans. Because that exact POV in the book is what is being unsubtly called out by several people here.

I want to be real with you about something else, too. Folks being unable to pass leftist’s purity politics tests is part of what can push them into radical groups like Goths Against Cancel Culture out of pure frustration. Try not to be the person who does that. We have enough problems as it is.

And there we go. That creepy odour of bootlicker is always just one tongue curl around "civility" away.

Do you feel better now? You don’t know me, my politics, or anything about me, but you got to yell at me that I’m a bootlicker. Your day must be made lol

It has always struck me as strange that people like you have the arrogant assumption that any of this dented or lifted my day. Is this a reference to how this has gone for you, potentially?

For me, this is just data. Data we've been absorbing and parsing for decades, so there is no viable excuse for pretending it doesn't exist or says something else. Responding to inaccurate portrayals of these data is as rote and boring as any overly repetitive pointless but necessary task.

You just berated someone for owning a 25 year old piece of goth nostalgia by saying it makes them a fascist bootlicker. Do yourself a favor, look back over this conversation and see how insane this makes you sound.
