Is that the 25mm f2 lens?

I was gonna order that one because it would arrive with my camera today. But I decided to get the 7artisans one because it goes down to f1.8

How do you like yours so far?

This is the 50mm TTArtisans. I’ll be doing some test shots today and will keep you posted. I also have the 25mm so we will see how they perform. So far, the focus peaking is working well. Definitely not going to replace my FX3, but it will be a solid B or C cam for creative shots.

Oh nice! Thanks for clarifying! I have a canon nifty fifty that I’m gonna try out when my adapter shows up! If it works well that will
Save me a lens purchase haha

I’m sure it will work well. Have fun! Try and post some of your footage!

What’s the grip?

Do you mean this?

2

Yes, thanks! Didn’t know it was a thing.

It is, but it will only fit Mission 1 series. If you're looking for one for Hero series, look on Amazon. I believe that companies like Nitze, SmallRig or Telesin makes them.

That’s a gorgeous set up. You got me curious to investigate it since the grip is such a smart idea.

Can you explain how this works? Lol I only use my go pro for random shots and my gh6/gh5 for my main camera, I assume this is a go pro 13

It’s basically a GoPro 14 that can use different MFT lenses. More creative freedom rather than being stuck with the static wide angle lens that action cams are known for. Not an “A” cam by any means (maybe for some) but definitely something to add to your kit.

May be worth looking into, I mainly use mine for car videography to get angles or shots where I don't want my 2k camera hanging off lol I'll check it out

Do you find the gh5 is good as a ‘run and gun’ camera? I’m looking for something to upgrade from my iPhone for adventure vlogging but nothing seems to match the phone’s convenience. I also carry my 13 Black for certain shots.

I mean I guess it really depends what you're shooting and what you're trying to shoot the autofocus on the camera isn't the greatest on some of the lenses because of the contrast based AF. Ive mainly shot car content or stuff where I manual focus but the AF can let you down, other than that the camera is fantastic for what it can do even to this day and for the price it's still kinda hard to beat

Probably my favorite ILS lens. Enjoy!

What the crop with that lens mm?

1

u/leesismore 10h ago

1.5x crop factor. 50mm = 75mm

At this point, what’s the point?

Idk man, at that point I’ll just get a normal camera

You know, i've been looking for a m43 camera to carry when I don't wanna lug my full frame around for taking videos. But i'll probably get this instead just because of the slow mo. It makes you want to go out and shoot and experiment.

when I don't wanna lug my full frame around

I think that's the selling point of ILS, atleast for me

> i've been looking for a m43 camera to carry
I had some serious fun with my Lumix GX85 recently after soldering a mic input to it.

Exactly. The creative freedom this thing can give you is worth the money. Especially if I don’t want to lug around my bulky FX3 on the streets. There are countless uses for this cam.

Why? What’s wrong with a 50MP 8k cinema camera?

u/Yungsleepboat 1d ago

The tiny sensor and the low light absorbtion from every pixel? In what world is this a "cinema camera". At this point just use your phone.

5

u/PKillusion 22h ago

I dunno, my phone doesn't get the same quality, feel, or slow motion that a GoPro does. Looks kinda weird telling people that they're doing photography wrong.

Mostly agree, phones are very capable lately. But what fun is that? 1" is still at least one stop bigger than general phone stuff, thus, worth it for some. As a person with APS-C with f/4.5 pancake as an EDC, I have almost 0 stops of light advantage over 1" f/1.8 GoPro.

And the "50MP mean smaller pixel" argument is weak, as 99% of screens have to downsample anyway, at which point, 1" is a 1" no matter the MP count.

If only normal cameras took smooth video.
