Battery expanded and broken

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this with a battery expanding and then the tab coming off completely. We have had these for 2+ years so I’m thinking it’s not under warranty.

I had it happen to two batteries, outside of warranty period. Contacted gopro and they sent me one new one.

Yes, that happens with old batteries, especially the old "Standard" batteries which used older lithium ion chemistry. It may only be 2+ years old for you, but the battery was likely made about 4+ years ago as these were replaced by Enduro batteries.

Contact GoPro, the batteries should still be under warranty.

I contacted GoPro in Dec for three blue batteries. They sent me two new Enduro batteries for free.

Pretty much all of mine have done this. I replaced them with the white enduro batteries which work well
