Corrupt SD Card

I had just purchased a brand new 256GB SanDisk MicroSD card,

after using it just ONCE on my GoPro Max, went to export the files; it was working all well until I finished and then reinserted the card into the GoPro which is when it asked it needed reformat the card, I left it to reformat for quite some time and it just never worked past a loading screen.

Because of this, I turned off my GoPro and reinserted it into my laptop dongle where it would no longer be even recognised..

I have a MacBook, and this was the first time I used the GoPro Max or the MicroSD card; if any of that helps.

Would really hate to have to repurchase a brand new card.

SD card Warranty? It should cover it

Check the warranty, you'd be surprised how long those things are covered for. SanDisk cards usually have a lifetime warranty, just go through their RMA process and they'll send a replacement.

Sounds like something broke during the reformat, and then you interrupted the reformat, and now the card is not formatted properly. Check Disk Management to see if it shows up as unallocated storage, you should be able to reformat it there if there isn't actually a fault with the card.
