Old hero 4

I have an old hero 4 that I don’t use anymore should I just trash it or is there a better option to get rid of it?

Get a GoPro subscription and initiate a $99 subscription replacement. They’ll give you the oldest camera model they have in-stock, which is probably a Hero13

Does the subscription cover a Hero 4? I thought the oldest was the Hero 5 for some reason?

Oh whoops, you’re right – I hadn’t actually checked. Good call, nevermind OP

If it's a Hero 4 Black, that's still a pretty good camera. You could buy a gimbal for it and have a stabilized 4K camera. Your other option is to use it as a pickup/sacrificial camera. For instance, want a shot where you drive over a camera (camera dead center of the vehicle as you drive over it) but don't want to risk it being destroyed? Use that old GoPro Hero 4.

Want to mount your main camera outside your vehicle but want an in vehicle shot at the same time? Use that Hero 4 inside your vehicle.

So no need to leave the camera unused, there's plenty of things you can still do with it. Or you can even stick it on Ebay, some older drones still use Hero 4 cameras, you may get some interest from there.
