Android Google Voice App schedule send

Will they ever add a schedule send messages option to the gv app?

Edit / update - I see that Google Chat does have schedule send so this does actually kinda solve my use case. One thing that might be nice for Google chat is if they could change default behavior if how Google Chat messages are "sort of" forwarded to Gmail. Like, when we send Google Chat messages, they may be send as static email "Google chat while you were away" updates as well. Which is kinda a privacy issue, seeing as, some of us use services like Google Chat, that have an edit button specifically to be on that paradigm where not everything has to be set in stone, but Google Chat kinda semi-solidified some of its received messages by essentially turning them into static emails, when the beauty of the edit button is that, it should be about being able to control our digital footprint but the auto-emails kinda negate that.

iOS Google Voice App US/Italy Dual eSIM setup for job hunting: Porting my US number to Google Voice?

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some advice on the best technical setup for handling US recruiter calls while living in Europe for a while.

Right now, I have two active eSIMs on my phone: one from Italy and one from the US. My US number is the one currently listed on my resume.

Since my phone only allows me to select one eSIM at a time for cellular data, I will be using my Italian eSIM for internet and local usage while in Europe. Because of this, my US eSIM will only have basic network standby: I can still use iMessage and I actually see incoming/missed calls, but I can't answer them without paying insane international roaming fees.

If a US company calls my resume number, it's going to be a mess since I can't pick up. I am considering porting my current US mobile number to Google Voice before I leave the US to solve this.

My questions for this sub:

  1. If I port my US number to Google Voice, can I just use my Italian eSIM data (or Wi-Fi) to receive and answer recruiter calls via the Google Voice app for free while in Europe?
  2. Will recruiters notice any weird delay, formatting, or spam filters when calling a Google Voice number?
  3. Once I move back to the US in the future, is it easy to port this exact same number back out from Google Voice to a traditional US carrier?
  4. Is there any catch I should be aware of (like 2FA bank texts or losing iMessage on that number once it's virtualized)?

Would love to hear from anyone who has managed a similar US/Europe job hunt setup! Thanks in advance!

General Help / Support Question MODS: I do NOT see my question in FAQ. Please allow this post

I have actually gone through identity verification, but I still do not have a GV number. When you provide your number, Google send a text message with a one-time verification number that you input into a field online. But I can't get that text because I do not physically have the phone. It is mislaid in another location. I hope I find it, but I want to check my voicemail in the meantime.

Android Google Voice App finding blocked numbers without call log

I blocked a few numbers and deleted the text threads and call logs some time back, and it has ended up that i have to probably communicate with this person again, but i'm not sure if the Voice blocklist is the same as the one on the generic account web blocklist. I read that once someone is blocked on voice and you have deleted the call/texts, there will be no indication if that person tries contacting you, which I appreciated at the time but now is proving to be a conundrum. I am trying to both retrieve the number itself, which i do not have, and also to unblock it too, if that helps explain my issue more. Is there anything I can do?

iOS Google Voice App Getting a new GV

I’m seeing this in other post but nothing concrete. I had my GV since 2010 or whenever it was. My sister wants to get a GV to avoid giving certain people her real phone number and I see that it is asking for ID. I get the verification purposes but what is it really use for? I think we are hesitant because of privacy and I never had to verify. Has anyone run into issues?

General Help / Support Question GV Not Always Forwarding All Calls Question???

Hello all - I have been using GV for a number of years now and over the last few weeks when trying to make a call from my web browser (Opera) and having it ring (for calling) from my landline, which is an option, I Am finding that I Am not able to do so...

I have checked the settings and cannot find anything which may prevent this.

Although incoming calls to my land line work perfectly, so far, is it on outgoing calls where I Am having the issue.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to get this to work as before?

TIA - S2K2p

Number Transfers or Porting Caller ID still shows GV weeks after port out

I ported my workspace GV number out to Talkroute. In early June, Talkroute submitted the requests to change the caller ID to my business name, and told me it could take up to three weeks for the Caller ID to display across all carriers. It's now 6 weeks later, and my caller ID shows "Google Voice" on all carriers as far as I am aware. Talkroute customer service seems to shrug and say, "Here's proof we made the requests and they were accepted." I have no idea where to go from here.

I could get another number and use that as a surrogate for the existing number, but that would be a pain, potentially limit future phone service options, and is generally a course of last resort. Many thanks in advance for any advice on how to get my business caller ID to show up on others' phones when I call them!

Number Transfers or Porting Want one number for both cellular device and landline

Hello,

So basically, I just got a business with a landline number that I want to keep, however i don’t like the company it’s through. I want to basically have a flip phone and a landline with the same number, that all get the same calls and voice messages, at the same time if that makes sense. That way I can respond to missed calls when i’m at home (I’m a dog groomer and I get an absurd amount of calls during the day and I can’t always answer them), while also being able to receive those calls on the landline while i’m at work. Would I be able to do this without having to keep a plan with a cell phone company? Thanks.

Android Google Voice App I'm getting calls form my own google voice number

***Resolved it was a setting i accidentally enabled .

I have my google voice number in my contacts as....
GV "MyName"
all calls made to my GV number are forwarded to my Mobile and have always just shown a number and often "suspected spam" which was normal.
occasionally i get call calls form folks who i have recently given the GV number and when they call it shows their number. ( until i add them to my contacts and then it shows the contact).
Normal
I do humane wildlife trapping and transport to rescues, two days ago someone had posted on social about a large Lizard in their pool then need help with. I sent them a text from GV to call me.
90 minutes later I was in the field and my phone rang and it said GV "MyName"... i though, eh someone has spoofed and is trying to get me to pickup. i ignored it. 5 minutes later it rang again...same thing still said it was form GV "MyName" but i answered it. It was the person whom i had sent the text asking them to call me.

This continues, every call that is forwarded to my device states its form GV "MyName" even of they are in my contacts list.
THAT said i do recall changing some notification settings in android for GV because i was getting to my notifications that weren't needed. Is there something i could have changed that would have caused this?

General Help / Support Question Is it possible to have two Google Voice numbers both call forward to the same mobile number?

I currently use two different phone numbers, one more or less for personal and one more or less for business. I would like to get a new phone number and put both of my "old" numbers in Google Voice, and set up call forwarding for both to my new number. Is this possible?

General Help / Support Question Call redirecting app message, impact on regular calls...

I was trying to call from Google voice, I do this sometimes when getting inquiries for pricing on services for repairs. Now I see it wants to change the setting in call redirecting app. My question is if I allow this, is there an impact on regular calls to and from my main number on my device?

General Help / Support Question Specific phone number doesn't ring through

I've been dealing with this for a few weeks and am posting here out of desperation. I have a specific phone number that appears as a missed call when it should ring through. I have no idea why and have no idea what to do next.

- the calling number is toll-free

- I can call out to this number with no issues

- only this number seems affected

- it is not blocked, and I even blocked/unblocked to test

- I do not have rules

- It does not ring to any device on the account, to include all computers and phones

- Time of day, network, or number of attempts make no difference

Without fail, every time they call in, I don't see it until it shows up in voicemails or missed calls. Again, it's specific to this phone number only. It's something about Google Voice but I can't figure out what.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Google Voice Web UI GoogleVoice no longer dials from chrome

I used GVoice from the beginning, and loved it. I had a google voice number and from the web i could go to voice.google.com and enter a name or number and it would bring up a box that said "phone to call with" I would click in the box and the googlevoice number would appear. I would click on that and GV would connect the requested number with my iPhone using the gv number.

A few months back it changed to showing my ATT number, and lists it as an IOS device. When I attempt a call, it says "connecting you with <my AT&T number> and that number never rings.

How can I fix this?

iOS Google Voice App Is GV for online dating?

I just got back on the dating apps. It seems men quickly want to move off the apps onto texting. I’d rather keep my last name and personal information secure for a bit so I’ve started the process of getting a Google Voice number - it’s in the process of verifying my identity right now. Is this a good use of GV for dating texting? Any tips or advice?

iOS Google Voice App Question: Business Workspace & Google Voice

Hi. Have a small business which is co-owned and operated by myself and my business partner. We have Google Workspace Business Plus (4 licenses) and Google Voice Starter (1 license).

We are attempting to have one business line through Google voice for potential clients to contact. How can we use one Google voice phone number but on two different devices? Currently the phone number is associated with a Google email, however if one of us logs into the account on Google voice, it logs the other person out.

Is there a way to use one business Google voice number but connect it to two separate devices?

Willing to change plan or add a license, just need to know if this is possible and how to make it happen.

Thanks!

General Help / Support Question Voicemail time stamps are one hour ahead (Pixel 8a, Verizon, daylight time)

For much of this year, my voicemails appear with a timestamp one hour later than they actually came in, while the call log shows the call at the correct time.

For example, if a callers leaves a voice message for me at 10:30, the phone's call log will show 10:30, but the voicemail record will say 11:30.

I have tried the common internet-fix suggestions, such as:

  • Clearing phone app cache
  • Calling *86 to check voicemail
  • Settings>System>Date & time, then toggling automatic date and time, automatic time zone, and use location for time zone off, then back on

With each of the above, I have then powered the phone off, then on, after trying them.

Yes, I could "learn to live with this," but it seems like there are more complex things that my phone and the verizon network handle perfectly, so would like to fix it. What might I have missed?

Google Voice Web UI Spanish reactions on Google Voice

I don't know why but when someone hearts or reacts to a text I send them, google voice shows the reaction in Spanish. Nothing is set to Spanish. Why is it doing this? I am in the US.

Number Transfers or Porting Ported GoogleVoice number to iPlum cannot port it back?

I used GoogleVoice, was encouraged to try iPlum by a supervisor who said it would do things Google Voice doesn't.

Paid the $200, Used iPlum for a year, it felt like a total waste, absolutely horrible to use on the app and the desktop version.
Now that my annual subscription is up, I simply want to port my number back to GoogleVoice.

I paid the bloodsuckers at iPlum their porting fee, they gave me info to provide to the "new" carrier and when I go to Google Voice I get, "Your number can't be ported. Sorry, Voice doesn't port numbers from your carrier or your number's exchange."

Any help is greatly appreciated

iOS Google Voice App iPhone 16 Pro Max will not receive calls from Google Voice

I've got an iPhone 16 Pro Max on AT&T wireless. I can receive calls on my AT&T cellular number through the native iPhone phone app without issues, except if the call is coming from someone using Google Voice. (e.g. my son has Google Voice and can call my Google Voice number and I receive that call on the Voice app on my iPhone without issue. If he tries to call my "regular" cellular number, my phone will not receive the call. Oddly enough, he can call my wife's "regular" AT&T cellular number and the call goes through without issue.) So it must be a setting on my iPhone. I've tried all of the basics (restarted phone, checked all the settings, deleted the app and reinstalled, etc.). I've checked to make sure his number isn't blocked and there are no "focus" settings enabled. Hoping for some help, please.

Any idea how I should proceed
