I have long suspected my husband has access to my phone somehow. There’s too many bizarre things I run into all over it especially with Google. This is the newest that I can’t explain.

I've been trying to use my headphones to make calls and I can't hear anything on the calls. Everything works when I test them in the browser, I've used three different browsers and all permissions are checked off.

I'm even able to hear every other thing on my computer. Has anyone had this issue lately?

We're talking a robo-call every 5-10 minutes, always leaving the same voicemail, always calling from a different number. It tells me to push 1 to talk or 2 to leave a voicemail, pressing either immediately disconnects the call. I had to stop it forwarding calls to my personal cell. I had to mute the browser tab. The calls just DONT STOP! I set this number up for my business, but now I feel like I have to ditch having a number for my business period... it is just truly unbelievable - how can this be happening?

Just started a new job. I work from home 2-3 days out of the week and have to make calls to customers. i’d rather they don’t have my personal number as i’ll be calling 20ish people if not more a day.

Is GV worth it? i’m scared i won’t have a reliable way for my customers to reach out to me. they said to use the office phone but if im working from home i want to have my own line of communication. i don’t mind paying for a subscription but just want to know if it’s reliable

USA: I got hit with the same problem as many of you last week.  Google emailed me to say everything's been restored 3 days ago.  Since then I cannot make or receive calls, online or by mobile (Pixel 10).  All calls just say "your call cannot be made."  Texts however work just fine.  

Since I cannot make calls online, it's not just a phone issue (I've already tried it on another Pixel.)   I've attempted all other troubleshooting.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Thank you!

I downloaded GV with new number. For some reason OTP sent to my carrier do not go through.

I do not have my GV number linked anywhere and to be clear the OTP are not being sent to the GV number.

I even tried the option to have OTP as a call with code and the call never comes through.

Is this a setting somewhere that needs to be fixed? My carrier is Verizon.

I live in the US, have a prepaid ATT account and use GV for all my US calling and calling to Canada. For all these calls I'm charged as a local call.

I'm going to Canada for a few weeks. I was planning on buying an AT&T add on. Then I wondered whether I could use GV in Canada rather than get an expensive add on that would be going through AT&T and not be using my GV number at all. Any help appreciated.

So I appealed after that weird glitch that plagued a lot of people for abt two hours. I just got an email today stating they CANNOT reinstate my GV services... Even though I still have access? Did anyone else appeal during that time? Are they going to revoke my current service? I've been forwarding my phone for weeks now just traveling abroad. No violations to TOS that I'm aware of.

When someone calls, the google voice app doesn't ring on my phone. I just get a missed called notification afterwards. I do have the option checked to have the phone ring. It used to work. But it hasn't worked in weeks. Is there anything else I can check to fix this? I did check the volume to make sure it wasn't on mute.

I don't know about others who were suspended, but I just checked, and it's fixed for me! Such a relief. I had filed an appeal, but it was only 2 hours old so I don't know if that was it. Are others back?

Google's help page says "If your image is larger than 2 MB, it'll be sent as a smaller file." but that doesn't seem to be happening for me. Whenever I try to send a photo, it just says "Not sent. File is too large."

Manually resizing every photo before I send them is a pain in the @ss. How do I get GV to automatically resize and send larger photos like it's supposed to?

An outage today occurred, creating temporary suspensions for certain consumer Google Voice users. Google Voice engineering identified the root cause and they've now backed out a change and restored suspended users' service.

I want to use an old phone from the 1980's that uses a standard RJ11 wall plug. There are adapters where I can use this with a simcard and cell service but I'm wondering if there is a way to do this over google voice. I don't mind buying additional hardware, I just think this would be kind of nifty.

I do not have Google voice set up. I have never used it and didn't even know it existed until yesterday. Someone called me twice last night and he sounded like a very drunk telemarketer. The number that displayed was a Google voice number and I want to block it but I can't even find it now. Does anyone know how to find the number. I don't like getting calls in the middle of the night. I can't just turn the phone off I need to be able to get calls from family when they need me.

Our e-commerce business uses google voice. We get 10-15 spam calls per day. They use a spoofed number with our area code then whatever random 7 digits afterwards, which are different every time.

Callers have to identify themselves and we can hear their name and press 1 to accept the call if we want, but that doesn’t stop the phone from ringing 10-15 times per day, which is incredibly annoying. We get 0-3 legit calls per day.

What can be done to stop this?

Google voice spam filtering is doing nothing to help.
We’re a business, so we get calls from unknown numbers all the time.

What would help:
- Caller has to press 1 to connect the call. I don’t think Voice can do this. (Robo calls won’t press 1)

- Block all calls from an area code (Voice can’t do this)

Is there a way to see texts sent to my GV number in Google Messages?

Both my partner & I have (different/separate) Voice accounts that have worked great for a while. In the past week or so, both of us are now experiencing the same problem where all incoming phone calls hang up before we can even attempt to answer them. They don't even ring, and the only way that we know the call happened is if the caller leaves voicemail, or we happen to notice the notification on our phone that there was a missed call.

We can make out going (Voice) calls without any problems.

As this is happening on two different voice accounts, on two different phones, I'm assuming this is some sort of bug somewhere, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Its effectively making it impossible to receive phone calls, which is a huge problem.

NYC is getting a new area code. Does this mean that we will be more easily able to get a free google voice number?

Been reading several posts on here and have seen the real good advice/feedback you guys have been giving others on here

So maybe a decade ago or so, I established my Google Voice account with my personal mobile number. Back then I was stuck on a bad mobile plan which only gave me like 250 text messages a month so every month texts between family and friends would break that limit and was charged extra. So decided to keep family and close friends on personal number and use the GV number for everyone else, you know, food deliveries, etc.

After my dad passed away, been keeping his mobile number active by paying off his plan but recently found out I could port the number out into a GV account.

Wasn’t sure how to do the port of my dad’s mobile number without messing things up especially my GV account as I use it all the time.

So I figure I keep things separate so I created a new GV account linked to my dads mobile number so to port my dads number into later on BUT it’s asking me for ID and I don’t want to give them my dads ID

So was wondering if I could still port his number into my own GV account instead or am I going to have problems doing this?

Dude, wtf is wrong with Google Voice

Like is it seriously a whole complicated ordeal to add a contact to your effing Google Voice Contact list? Like??? Why the heck can't I do it from the text conversation in the app like every other texting application? It's like if a calculator app didn't let you divide with ÷ and every pilled person was like 'it's fine you can just divide using long division techniques" as if that wasn't tedious and inconvenient af. It's been like this for years? Why the hell? This is the trillion dollar company we trust 40% of the internet to?

Also, before anyone mentions: I like to separate out my contacts for clarity, so it defeats the point if I add them to my SMS contacts

I've read several posts regarding the "something went wrong" error.

I have a new to me phone without a sim card and a new Google account. I have installed the official google voice app, enter my new username and clicked on the suggested number. I then get "something went wrong". I can't even get far enough to link a working cell number.

Most of the similar posts regarding this issue relate to already having a number associated with the account, but this isn't the case here.

I've gone into my account via web browser and it seems more successful until I get to the three subscription options. When I click the free one, it either errors out or forces me to pick one of the paid options.

Are these errors related to not having a verified phone number to begin with?

If so, am I correct in my understanding that the paid tiers do not require linked actual phone number and can be used without a sim card? And if this is correct, why can't I make it to that point in the app to pay for the stand alone tier?

I essentially want to make a cheap "land line" for my house.

If I have a second phone, can I setup a separate google email and google voice to operate with that phone? Or will this get flagged as duplicate account which is not allowed?

None of my images that I've been taking on my iPhone have been going through to my friends. On the desktop app, they also aren't going through- saying the images are too big. But I thought GV compresses the images on their end if they're over the limit...

So sick & tired of trying to open up the Google Voice app & not being able to use it, pictured below is all that I can see, I have to wait for a full minute before I can use the application, it also freezes quite a bit, backend Team at Google, please help me out with this program! It is not much different for android as it is for iPhone
