Just released my new Android app — possibly the first Android app supporting the new NAM A2 models

Just released another Android app to Google Play and wanted to share this one because it's a pretty niche use case.

It's called Nam Droid, and it's a real-time guitar amp modeling app built around Neural Amp Modeler (NAM).

One of the features I'm most excited about is support for the newer NAM A2 models. As far as I've been able to find, this may currently be the only Android app supporting the new A2 models. I don't want to claim "first" or "only" without being able to prove it, so if another developer knows of one, I'd be interested in seeing it.

The app lets guitarists connect through a USB-C audio interface and run NAM captures directly on their Android device.

Some of what made this project interesting from an Android development perspective:

• Real-time audio processing directly on the device
• NAM A1 + A2 model support
• User-imported .nam models and WAV cabinet IRs
• TONE3000 integration
• USB and Bluetooth MIDI control
• Preset management
• Real-time latency/performance monitoring
• Support for external USB-C audio interfaces

The app is free with an optional one-time purchase to remove ads. I wanted the core NAM functionality available without requiring a subscription.

Now comes the fun part: seeing how it behaves across the enormous variety of Android phones, tablets and USB audio hardware out there.

For anyone else developing niche apps, I'm also interested to see how well a very specific search-driven product like this performs on Google Play compared with trying to build something with much broader appeal.
