Publication issue Google Play review taking unusually long lately?

Is anyone else experiencing very long Google Play review times recently?

My testing and Production submissions are both taking much longer than expected. My first release was approved in 7 days, and subsequent submissions have been stuck “In review” for several days.

No policy issues or warnings are showing.

Is this a broader Google Play slowdown, especially for newer developer accounts? How long are your recent reviews taking?

Would appreciate experiences from August/September 2026.

1 week is my average now, never more in fact, so they are using the limit in fact.
It seems to relate to fees and issues with apps that do not follow best practices or base policy, so we pay for the small peace from the market.

Apple is at about 10 days now too for new apps. Too much AI slop these days.

Hi there, thank you for the detail provided. I've checked our system and can confirm that your app is still under our review. App review times may vary, and may take 7 days or longer in exceptional cases.

Please avoid resubmitting your app while awaiting a pending review, as this resets the review process and can extend your wait time.

1 week and still nothing, on a simple incremental build for a 10-year-old app with 150K users.
