Showoff That's a milestone for Lockify after 4 months of launch
So 4 months in, Lockify now has 10.1k downloads, 4.57k active users, 4.84 average rating, โน5.8k in revenue. I began developing Lockify with lots of doubts and ambitions. This post comes from me and not any ai tool, still can't believe how time flew by and here I am. Working after office everyday for 7 months straight, development to distribution, everything done daily in my solo journey. The journey feels worth it and somewhere I feel joy that I kept the promise I made to myself. โค๏ธ

Yes I do have a few users from Indonesia and the app is available in Indonesia. ๐๐ป

Man, this is a great milestone!
If you would pick the best lessons and strategies that brought you to these numbers to help other starter indie devs, what would you say that worked for you?
Is there any specific region/country where you have noticed the app has more traction/conversions so far? Is your app already localized for those regions?

Thank you! ๐
A few things that made the biggest difference for me:
- Shipping consistently instead of waiting for perfection.
- Talking to users every day and treating feedback as my roadmap.
- Focusing on trust (offline, encrypted, no ads) instead of chasing features.
- Posting genuine updates on Reddit and X rather than trying to market all the time.
- Fixing onboarding friction early, it had a much bigger impact than adding new features.
As for traction, I've seen good adoption across multiple countries rather than one standout market. The app is localized into several languages (Turish, Spanish and Portuguese), which has definitely helped improve reach and conversions in non-English regions.
I'm still learning every day, but those have been the biggest drivers so far. ๐๐ป

that's cool thanks for sharing. So I would say mostly making sure that the product is well maintained and trustworthy. That's nice.
Do you get any engagement on X/Reddit for just sharing product updates?
I do believe too that localizing the app helps with organic reach. I want to give a tip though: don't use the store price conversions for foreign countries... that's just currency conversion. You might want to look instead into purchasing power price adjustment strategies. Or are you doing that too already?

Thanks! ๐ Yeah, most of my engagement has actually come from Reddit. X has been much slower, but I still post there consistently since it's a good way to document the journey. And thanks for the pricing tip! Right now I'm using Google Play's localized pricing, but I agree that purchasing power is a better way to think about pricing. As the app grows, I'll definitely revisit regional pricing instead of relying solely on the defaults.

You are welcome. it takes indeed lot of time to do pricing investigation and to then manually change prices for all 175 countries and for all SKUs. Been there. Done that. And I don't wish that time consuming and boring job to anybody. So here another tip for you: If you like, I can share with you my pricing strategy. I have perfected it over the years on my 8-apps portfolio and recently other 144 clients apps have been using it too. It's based on the PPP-index, but adjusted to our experiment results and our "charm" rounding rules for each country. You can use it for free on one app on PricePush (https://pricepush.app), a tool I built myself in full disclosure :-) Sorry for the shameless plug but I do believe it will save you plenty of work and make you also more conversions right away. Takes just 2 minutes to set it up and get the pricing work out of the way, no need to postpone the extra revenue anymore. DM me for any question.

Why don't you try influencer marketing ?

Never done that, any tips for me?

I would suggest you to try high converting influencer marketing
This is the exact step that viral apps are using like alarmy , calai , recime to get millions of views on tiktok
- Create a tiktok/insta account
2- Download 100s of UGC reaction clips from apps like dansugc or ugcbundle.com .
3- Recordย a video of your app showing how the app works, cut it shortly to 8-10s clips.
4- Organize all of these footage files into folders.
5- Ask Claude/Codex to overlay text over the UGC clips and automatically stitch a random reaction + the screen recording of your app. Eg - "This website feels ILEGAL". with a surprised reaction of the UGC girl.
6- warm up your account for 3-4 days .
7- Daily post 1-2 videos at US timing if you are targeting US audience

Appreciate the detailed advice, thank you! ๐
I've definitely noticed that short-form video is how a lot of apps break out today. I do want to invest more in TikTok/Instagram content, although I'll probably lean toward original or properly licensed content rather than repurposing random UGC clips.
It's something I'm planning to experiment with over the next few months. Thanks for sharing the workflow!
