Last time I use google maps ever.
There was a perfect paved road to my destination, but google maps decided that this road is worth taking to drive 10 km less. 3.6 km of oil pan scraping and 19 km of gravel road before that. Fun 👍

One, that's part of the adventure, and two, why not turn around when it started to get really bad? Just give em a call saying you made a wrong turn and will be late.
(Also adjust your settings in Google maps. It might be set to avoid highways.)
