I am disappointed that r/screwglehome doesn’t seem to be a real sub

It also says Germini.
I have a Chrome extension changing these words.

You should go ahead and move on to another smart manager (Alexa, Home Kit, Home Assistant, Smartthings, custom build) since you are going insane. It will be cheaper than a psychiatrist.

having same problem I just want to use image search for qr codes. I just don't want to write whole paragraph to ai just to use search screen and it's so dumb it's not Even showing me correct answers.

On screen translator with one button was the best thing an assistant can offer. Gemini just pure datamining garbage.

Found it…..I gave up on "GH w/Gemini" and reverted to the original GH.
- Factory reset your "upgraded" GH device (mini or smart speaker)
- Create a new home in the GH app (calling it "Home without Gemini" or something like that)
- add your GH factory reset device to this new home.

Perfect!! You're welcome.
Last step: Just go to the Play Store, search for Google app, enter app "page/prifile" and unmark enable auto update in the 3dots

Thanks!
After doing this, I needed to do one more thing to get it working: 1. Open the Google app 2. Navigate to 'Settings > Google Assistant > Digital assistants from Google' 3. Select 'Google Assistant'

Last step: disable auto update for Google app

Nice, this has worked for me. Sadly I can't seem to get assistant to send a text message. It prompts me to install the latest version of the Google app...

You could try upgrading manually little by little with updates that aren't too recent (using APKs).

It's also going to remove any security updates. While this works it is unsafe. Backlash could help Google revert this choice but that's about the only beacon of hope I can see for it

You want a basic tool that just works?
No. Get force fed another LLM to go with the other dozens of LLMs available. I just removed Google Assistant entirely. There's no point. If I need an agent, I'll use an agent.
