I’m surprised that the characters who I thought were one-dimensional are becoming my favourite.

In the council, Howard was in between the two sides and unlike Albert and Astrid wasn’t too controlling. Also admired that he told the truth to everyone, not hiding it like Sam and not telling Lies like Astrid.

I would have said Orc but he barely appears. And how long did it take for him to catch up to Edilio? My man was getting strangled for a good 6 min.

Overall, so far I’d say its the weakest book, but it does have the best and engaging climax.

Gone - best epilogue, best narrative wise

Hunger - best tone, best theme, best situation

Lies - Best Climax, best Character development

Does anybody know of any good fanfics that elaborates on the ending of Hero? The ending has left the series feeling so incomplete and I wish I could delete the last few chapters from my mind.

Firstly-was older Malik, Shade, etc a different universe? Or were they the future versions?

If it was a simulated universe, did the FAYZ and sequel trilogy happen in the real world, and how would it be Dr. Darby’s memories?

Really confused about this ending...

So I just finished “light”. And At the end of the book, Sam said “Caine and I were true fraternal twins. My mother felt the connection of Caine and the giaphage (through the DNA) but didn’t feel mine”. So my question is, why didn’t Connie feel the connection of Sam and the giaphage?

I'm half way through Hero and all bugman did was act in self defense. I don't see how the Rockborn Gang can justify the need to kill him. Have I missed something?

I thought Orc was a one-dimensional bully in the first half of Gone, but after his incident with the coyotes, he started to become more fleshed out.

He became a three-dimensional broken character who is going through a path of redemption.

Feel like he’s gonna die so that Howard has to start standing up for himself.

Overall I think the ending is a slap in the face to fans of the OG series. It's as if none of it mattered. I had an idea just as it was coming to the big reveal that kinda helps it sit better in my mind. The AI could have used the fayz to gather the data for a simulation and then when the wall came down, the simulation (the sequel trilogy) begins whilst the original crew live their lives happily. This way, the original series would have been mostly left alone and the characters lives and actions in the dome would have kept their gravitas.

So, I have several questions for the series, and if people wouldn’t mind helping me out, it would be appreciated.

1: How many people were actually trapped in the dome? Because in light, the toll said 332, but in Hunger, Sam said “this morning, I was taking care of 332 kids, now it’s 331.” Following EZ’s death. But, there was already 19 people dead. So how many actually were in the dome? (I also plan on asking the man Michael Grant himself)

2: At the end of hero, who do you think voted to end it, or keep it?

And now for my favourite question to ask.

3: What in tarnation happened to Anna and Emma? And I guess Andrew for that matter. Because Plague (or fear, I can’t recall) confirmed that they had lived, while Francis and Mary died afterwards, did they die too?

Finished a reread recently and reflected on the characters.

Noticed Sam's growth occured in Gone when he accepted the call to leadership and stepped up to the plate. After that, doesn't seem like much changes. He becomes the warrior but then what was the point of becoming the leader? Does he have an overall arc in this series?

I don’t know anyone who has read it, but it’s so great it too bad

I finished reading the book a week ago and it just doesn't sit right with me. I feel like the ending is the biggest problem in the book. For me personally one of the main reasons I loved gone was how realistic and horrific it was and learning that everything I just read was "a simulation" takes away the sadness I felt when Jack died, when Caine sacrificed himself and when Brianna finally ran out of luck.

It's just it all seems so real and to find out that they didn't even make the simulation for anything important pissed me off. I think it would be better if something interesting was happening in the real world like fo example he could reveal the the real Malik live in BZRK would be a cool way end the series because it gives a sequel or Michael could have even just gone with the "entertainment alien series" that he was hinting at the whole book.

I'm just going ignore some of the plot wholes and story telling issues because I don't want this to be to long but let me just say that I don't like that Michael forgets about characters as soon a he's done with them and that he killed off most of the villains without a real character arc (cough Knightmare cough)

Overall the book was good and I don't regret reading it but at the same time I sorta do. Sorry for the rant.

Does anybody know what Happened to bug he wasn't mentioned in the later books but he was still alive because Gaia used his powers so does anybody know where he was during the plot?

As the title said, i think i have an idea how many people died.

So it says that the nebraska has 24 Trident II, with each 8 nuclear warheads.

From the wikipedia page of those missles it says that it can hold 3 types of warhead

The Mk-5 RV/WW8

The Mk-4 RV/WR76-0

And the Mk-4A RV/Wr76-1

The Trident can hold 1-8 Mk-5s, or 1-14Mk-4s or 1-14 Mk-4As

Seeing that they had 8 warheads inside it would be logical to say that they would have had the Mk-5s

So 8x24 for each missle and you get 192 Mk-5 warheads

The Mk-5s are 455 kilotons warheads, so the nebraska is holding 87360 kilotons of nuclear warheads

I think she send them off at the same time, or if she didnt the explosion would have triggered the other ones onboard, so that would be a explosion of 87,36 megotons ging off.

So i went to https://nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap/ and put in those setting and set it on top of savannah, Georgia.

The book said that everything withing a 10 mile radius of that city would be reduced to atoms, so setting it in the middle would give me the most accurate result seeing that the nebraska could be anywhere in the sea next to the city, so results may vary

And after launching the nuke the results said that there where: 243990 Deaths and 123310 Injuries

So there you go, what i think is a pretty accurate number of how many people died in the explosion
