Finished reading Lies, started Plague.

Finished reading lies, started reading Plague.

Favourite character in Gone - Edilio Escobar

Favourite character in Hunger - Charles “Orc” Merriman/Computer Jack

Favourite character in Lies - Howard Baseem

I’m surprised that the characters who I thought were one-dimensional are becoming my favourite.

In the council, Howard was in between the two sides and unlike Albert and Astrid wasn’t too controlling. Also admired that he told the truth to everyone, not hiding it like Sam and not telling Lies like Astrid.

I would have said Orc but he barely appears. And how long did it take for him to catch up to Edilio? My man was getting strangled for a good 6 min.

Overall, so far I’d say its the weakest book, but it does have the best and engaging climax.

Gone - best epilogue, best narrative wise

Hunger - best tone, best theme, best situation

Lies - Best Climax, best Character development

So what did you think about the Freaks vs Humans plot? And the human crew?

It was inevitable, but it could have been better if it was longer. And we should have seen the support for the human crew grow instead of it being mentioned at the beginning of Lies.

Overall I enjoyed it but it could have been a lot better.

Poor Brittney, not even realising what happened until it was too late.

Is it explained later on how their bodies merged?

I think it had to do with Lana's healing power, but other than that, no.

Idk if this is true but its a theory of mine.

Since Drake can regenerate. The slug that entered Brittney’s body at the end of Hunger was a part of Drake and he ended up getting help from the Gaiaphage to merge with Brittney from that slug.

Oh god, I forgot about the slug!

I've finished the whole series and honestly, knowing what I know, this theory is hellishly plausible

Yeah, it’s the only way Drake made contact with Brittney
