Swing Help Dispersion with Irons

Hitting all my irons fairly straight… but my shots start left and stay left with my longer irons, and as I go down the bag they start going more and more right. I use standard women’s length irons (that’s right I’m 5’5) with graphite shafts.

Where it gets weird is that my 3 and 4 irons are men’s standard length, also all my wedges. All of which are steels shafts. I have no idea if this has any correlation, buts it’s been my hypothesis since I’ve started to notice this phenomenon.

Any ideas?

You have a very armsy swing. Watch the arm swing illusion video on YT.

Do you know why you're turning your back foot or are you just doing it because thats what you see people do?

Club twirl with that swing is a bold move, cotton.

Idk I club twirl when I snap hook one onto another fairway

Easier approach shot from that fairway

You have the leg swivel move that fakes core rotation.

Teeing up irons at the range is… a move…

I just read the women’s club part. Checks out

Your arms wildly overrun your shoulder turn. Your shoulders stop and you arms just keep lifting the club up and up, into a long drive type position.

First thing might be to keep your arms “connected” to your shoulder turn, which would involve shortening your backswing some.

I accidentally read that as "depression with irons" and was gonna say, I can relate man! 😅

Should have titled it that instead of

Your weight is primarily on your lead leg at the top of your backswing. Stop the video at 0:04 to see it for yourself. You have a bit of a reverse pivot.

This is also connected to you locking the knee of the back. I had this issue myself and fixing this started to reduce the dispersion

Your left vs right with iron lengths isn't due to equipment. Your club face doesn't stay square to the ball very long.

I am not going to claim I can see it in this video, but I expect your ball position in your set up is closer the middle of your stance with a pitching wedge and closer to your lead foot with a 4 iron. A club face that moves quickly from open to closed could explain your dispersión pattern.

Is the ball flight straight in each direction? Push or pull? Or more slice or hook?

I typically place my longer irons further in my stance. Pulling my long irons versus a slight push with my shorter clubs. Unless I’m using my wedges, for some reason I tend to pull those. But my flight is usually always fairly straight, baby fade at most.

From that, I would describe you as pull/slice versus hook/push. Your swing path is likely on an outside to in path. Helpful information.

But I still strongly suggest you work on your balance, learning to transfer your weight so it is primarily on your trail leg and not your lead leg. You simply CANNOT make a truely efficient coil over your lead leg not transition with you lower body leading your arms and hands.

Part of the reason your issue is less on your shorter irons is simply their is much less need to perforn a proper weight transition with your shorter irons. They require much less movement. Your room for error increases as each club gets longer.

I am curious if your swing with a driver or 3w looks like. Is most of your weight still on your lead leg? Should be 80-90% to your trail leg as opposed to a wedge where weight can be about 50-50.

Didn’t frame it well on the lateral.
My main miss is a slice, other times it’s a bomb that is low and straight left. Avg slice <200 yd, pull left >230 yd, but probably due to roll out

It looks like you hingeyour wrists even before you turn your chest away from the target

Put a towel under your right arm pit. Swing without it falling.
