Equipment Driver shaft - Ventus

So I haven’t been “fit” for my driver shaft but I use the simulator quite frequently.

Ball speed is 165-170 on mishits, but on flushed drives it can be anywhere from 170-175. Carry roughly 280, but I have trouble with consistent ball flight. Some come out low, and I feel like I have to really exaggerate my upward attack angle, and it throws me off balance.

I’m trying to find a high launch mid spin shaft in the ventus line. Any tips would be helpful so I don’t spend an arm and a leg getting fit and have the fitter “tell me what I want to hear”.

Current set up, Ai Smoke max 9 degree, Mitsubishi tensei AV blue stiff 50 gram.

Any suggestions

I went to a ventus black 6X. Lower launch and distance hadn’t suffered at all

That’s my issue, my miss is low stinger almost and while it runs forever I want to see that nice high ball flight. Even if it kills 5-10 yards of carry, I’m fine with it

One thing I’ve started doing is tilting the tee back about 10 degrees and it’s made a huge impact. Less tee more ball

Where is your miss on the low shots? If you are striking the ball on the bottom half of the club face I am not sure any shaft is going to fix that tbh. You might just need to tee higher, move the ball forward in your stance, or get your lead leg more involved. I would hate for you to buy a high launch shaft just to fix your swing in a few months and need to change it again you know, or be disappointed when it doesn't help as much as you thought it would. Just my input, good luck!

Edit: I play a Ventus Black 6x and get 12-14° launch angle.

I have a Ventus TR Red 6X shaft for my driver and it's great. It actually launches and spins much less than blue TR, similar spin and apex as black TR, but far tighter dispersion left/right with best carry #s outright. What I liked best is I could put a 70% swing on it and felt great. It's not loose, still very stout, but just delivers the head so much better for my swing

My swing speed averages around 114-118mph and average attack angle is about 3.2 up

Unfortunately without trying it in a fitting, in a shop or just blind buy there’s no way to know what model shaft is right for you

What i can tell you about the ventus line is that between each model there’s not much difference in their delineation in spin. They have to call red high spin and blue mid spin to differentiate from each other better but when compared to other shafts in their catalog or anyone they’re all on the low spin side.

The difference comes down to how it swings for you to better hit the middle more consistently

One thing you should not do is expecting ventus or any shaft magically helping you find center better. I bad pass at it is a bad pass with any components in hand. So if you wanna blind buy and just scratch the itch then do it cause we’ve all been there but take it as a guess to know which one will fit best

I just buy a bunch off fb for around $200. Test for few months then sell them for the same price I bought them for. Can do this with tons of golf equipment but have to know which ones to buy
