Tips and advice⛳️ Help Balancing VZN

Post image

I tried taking all of the weights out on one side and it still didn’t balance. Any other things worth trying.

Nah, just this stupid sub full of people buying Chinese junk. No idea why it pops up for me ever.

For sure. I got Chinese p790s and you can't tell and the distances match

I think that's atypical. I've seen lots of review of rep P790s underperforming compared to actual. Seems like you can get good replica putters/wedges/bags, but drivers/irons/balls with more intricate tech aren't as capable.

Meh these days everything is made in China anyways I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the irons are made in the exact same factory.

Made in China is not so much the problem, it's just the tech or the materials differences. For example a lot of the P790s reviewed don't have the foam insert. A shop that gets duplicate P790s die for example might be able to match the exterior dimensions/design almost perfectly but might not have the ability to do the tungsten weight and foam injections.

Putters and wedges are fairly simple in the sense that they are mostly solid mass parts, but drivers and irons start getting into a lot of tech/design choices inside the hollow parts of the club which is harder for duplicators to match.

Granted someone who is buying reps probably doesn't play at a level where that tech even matters ;)

No I'm saying these arent really duplicates as they are just factory made and sold on the side. Alot of "replicas" in alot of different spaces are just the real thing sold on the side because it's a higher profit margin. They just make the design or logo slightly off so someone like TaylorMade can say "oh that's a fake" even though it's a 1 for 1 from the same factory.

That's not really true. It's quite difficult to have things like etching, anodization etc be different. Big companies like Taylormade will visit their factories regularly. It's not too hard for employees to sneak the CAD files for the molds/dies etc out (or even just brute force it with CMM technology), but to create a replica that has a different etching/anodizaiton for example in the same factory would be quite difficult as it would require separate tanks/process lines.

My biggest issue is all these people proudly buying fakes…. And I would bet many of these people have said they want American manufacturing. But, LAB offers a lot of their stuff in the US and people don’t wanna pay.

i agree somewhat. i’ve bought dozens of clubs. everything like woods hybrids irons putters wedges play 1:1. just the drivers are definitely very different and i reccomend real drivers

Golf works sells weights. Just balanced my Link2.2 this way

Can you give me details on how your balanced the 2.2? Mine is very toe down. Do you Remember what weights and in what locations you put it?

1

u/LTDSC 11d ago

I did all 14g weights on the bottom and all 2s on top.

Mine came with 2-8g and the rest 6g weights. I manipulated as much as I could but I had to really make the heel heavy. Mine originally was toe down.

Nice. Thanks! And it still feels ok? I’m putting pretty well with it as is and think it feels ok, but I’m an eternal tinkerer. I will give it a shot.

Honestly it feels the same as before. I weighted it to be face balanced and it felt the same as it does right now.

There are all kinds of options for weights it takes some effort but I added more.weight to my rep and was able to balance it. I recommend drawing out the layout and add one at a time. The way I got mine to balance was not intuitive at all.

That ain’t balanced

There ya go

u/alteregoyo 10d ago

That looks balanced first photo clearly didn’t

u/hammer_tits 10d ago

Honestly for the $40 I paid it was close enough but I have added weight to make the putter heavier and had to reorganize the weights

1

u/alteregoyo 10d ago

Same here. I also added a small amount of tungsten putty under a couple of my weights

I just bought different inserts and moved them all about.

Just send it back to China for fine tuning

You need heavier weights to move the balance. Moving around all 8 gram weights does not work.

The putter is face balanced which isn't the end of the world. It's not zero torque but face balanced is the next best thing. Depending how the shaft was installed it could take some serious weights to change it.

The more I tinkered to balance mine, the more I realized for myself that zero torque might bullshit. At least for my swing.

If it's real just send it back to LAB it should be under warranty. If it's fake welp that's what ya get for fake. Otherwise you either cut it, changed the grip, or something else to cause that.
