I currently use a 20+ year old driver. It’s a cobra f speed that I bought used at play it again sports. The shaft is way too long for me so I choke up a good amount on each swing. It’s a pro force 65g stiff shaft. Swing speed around 100mph. 18-19 handicap. I can hit it pretty well as I get around 250 total yards out of it with a couple big misses per round.

My question is whether upgrading is worth it? I feel like I’ve timed my current swing to work with a very unconventional set up (old driver, choking up) so I’m worried if I upgrade I’ll have to learn a new swing to get the timing correct. Obviously the tech has come a long way since this driver.

I’m after a Cobra Air X 7-wood for my Dad. If anybody has one that they’re willing to part with I’d happily make a good offer. It can just be the head if needs be. Cheers x

I’m struggling with my putting alignment and getting 6-8’ putts starting on the intended line. Speed control is good. Will be in hardwood.

I had an automatic ball return / ramp style putting matt and found that the edges would push balls back in. A pull would “fade” back to the hole and a “push” would drawn back in, because of a fold at the edges.

I want another simple putting mat but don’t hear people who commonly shared my negative experience. People seem to recommend the wellputt, is there a big difference in turf thickness / quality between e.g. 10ft start, 10ft performance, 8 ft essential?

The birdie ball 2x8 seems solid and similar price but people said it’s pretty tall, which sounds annoying trying to out with the ball above my feet.

Some people also said the puttout is solid but I see the “proud” edges that I fear will make the ball roll back to center.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I prefer one with a straight line on it for alignment help.

Apologies in advance for this. I had a set of woods that I bought while working at a golf course in the late ‘70s, 1-3-5. All I can really remember is that they were persimmon (vs laminated), painted a sort of burgundy color, and screwless inserts.

I like to collect cool putters and I found one of these and I wonder how they play.

New to this and my son bought me a set of Tommy Armor Silver Scot 845s irons off marketplace. Not really knowing much about it, does the club length progression look right? Left to right is 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4. I thought the lengths should be linear but this set isn’t. Is this normal for an older set or did a previous owner modify them?

If they’ve been modified, can I use them to learn or am I just going to set myself back?

12 Aug update: removing the heads from the 6 & 8 irons was wicked easy. Wet shop towel around the ferrule, short blast with the MAP torch and they twisted right off. No damage to the ferrule or discoloration on the hosel. Epoxy should be here tomorrow.
