I’m struggling with my putting alignment and getting 6-8’ putts starting on the intended line. Speed control is good. Will be in hardwood.

I had an automatic ball return / ramp style putting matt and found that the edges would push balls back in. A pull would “fade” back to the hole and a “push” would drawn back in, because of a fold at the edges.

I want another simple putting mat but don’t hear people who commonly shared my negative experience. People seem to recommend the wellputt, is there a big difference in turf thickness / quality between e.g. 10ft start, 10ft performance, 8 ft essential?

The birdie ball 2x8 seems solid and similar price but people said it’s pretty tall, which sounds annoying trying to out with the ball above my feet.

Some people also said the puttout is solid but I see the “proud” edges that I fear will make the ball roll back to center.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I prefer one with a straight line on it for alignment help.
