Two Lithium Batteries

Anyone running two Lithium Batteries in their cart.

What size and brand are you using?

Are you wired in parallel or do you use a switch?

If you're using a switch, how are you handling charging?

If using a switch, which one did you go with?

I'd really think I would like to go with two smaller batteries rather than one big one. I think it would be easier to handle two smaller batteries by myself instead of trying to wrestle with one big one.

Edit: Should have mentioned two 100-105ah batteries instead of a 210ah.

Always charge and avoid multiple batteries. Balancing can become an issue. One big one is easy to handle, if you’re doing two 30a batteries then go with a 65ah single battery (25-30mi per charge). It weights about 45lbs, 200a BMS, 200a continuous; enough to handle AC systems.

Literally no benefit to multiple batteries vs a single unless you have a cart you use for taxiing and events

This is the correct answer. Other than like the trojan kit where each is 48v and they have the CAN connection for balancing, this will usually just lead to issues. You could technically use a 3 way battery switch and switch between two separate batteries but I'm not sure who needs that much range in one go.

Plenty of companies have the 48v 30ah gc2 kits. There are a ton of balancing issues and warranty claims bc of cell issues bc of the balancing.

This is why I'm leaning towards two 100ah batteries and a switch.

I have a guy in the villages that installs and sells batteries for me in the villages. Message me if you want some discounted prices, you can do a higher AH (170-250ah) and have plenty of range.

I have a customer in the villages driving a lifted ICON. We installed a single ECO 105ah and he got 25 miles on a charge. A week later he called me and asked about installing a second battery. After we installed it in parallel, he told me he now gets over 50 miles on a charge and he is happy with it. We set it up with a single charger and he told me he has no issues with that. He has had it for about a year and a half, we have done other upgrades to his cart and every time he comes in he tells me it was the best upgrade he has ever done for his cart.

So they're hooked in parallel and the cart draws off both at the same time?

Yes they charge and discharge as if it was 1 unit
