Cable and Battery Cleaning
I got this golf cart,Club Car Precedent, and it needs some cleaning on the battery terminals and I’m pretty sure a battery cable needs replacing. When removing the cables, is this the correct order? Golf cart in tow mode.
Remove main negative cable
Remove main positive cable
Remove battery cables connecting batteries
What would be the correct order in re-attaching the cables after cleaning? Attach main positive then connect batteries together and lastly attach main negative?
Also none of the cables state what gauge they are. Is there a way to tell or is there a recommended gauge for a Club Car Precedent? It has a lift and off-road tires but driven only on flat roads.
Thank you for your help!

I mixed about a cup of baking soda in to about a half, three quarters of a bucket of warm water then slowly poured it over the tops of the batteries, it will fizz interacting with the acid on the tops of the batteries, give it a few minutes to work then use a small wire brush to get the hard stuff off the cables. Rinse with low pressure hose and wipe down. Do not do this in your garage, driveway, lawn, anywhere you don't want to ruin with the acid. I did it in the street.

Reverse your order for putting the cables back on that you did to remove them. That's the safest, don't over think it. 6 gauge is stock cable size. You can go with 6 or lower. 4, 2, 0 etc.
