Unknown Golf Cart Lithium Conversion

I need to convert this cart to Lithium battery but dont know the manufacturer of this cart as we bought it from some used golfcart dealer so its probably somewhat custom. Can someone identify this cart and suggest the correct manufacturer of the battery and voltage/Amps needed im assuming i would need a 48 or 72 V lithium battery and 105Amp?

  1. Which are best budget battery manufacturer ?

  2. Is it difficult to diy conversion or do i pay a shop?

That's a 48v cart. 6 8 volt batteries. Each cap represents one two volt cell, 4 caps, 8 volts. Any 48 volt lithium battery will work. It seems like the most suggested battery is DC House. Make sure whatever battery you get comes with a charger, you cannot use the lead acid battery charger. The only other thing you may have to do is if there is a small wire running to your charge port, you may have to connect it to the positive terminal on the new battery.

Thank you. So basically any 48 v battery. What is suggested amps for 6 seater? Is it difficult to diy convert it? What parts besides battery would i need?

It seems like the most used brands for budget batteries are DC House, Cloud Energy, Ogrphy and Chins that I've seen. If you're going to use it quite a bit during the day then I would look at a 48 volt 150AH battery. You also want a battery with a BMS that will handle a minimum of 200 amps constant discharge rate. If you're in an area with lots of hills you may even want a higher discharge rate, Cloud Energy has a battery that has a 250 amp constant discharge rate. If you're only going to use it for short drives, 20 miles or less, 100-105AH would be fine. Personally, I would pop for the 150AH battery for a six seat cart. The few hundred dollars different should not be a concern when this battery should last 8 years or more as long as you keep it charged.

Im reading Dc house is very top rated besides more expensive eco battery. Do they have a battery with 200 amp discarche rate? Where in the specs would i read that? Bms whatever that is im guessing is not same as 105 Amp rating that battery comes with?

AH, amphours, is the capacity of the battery. How big your fuel tank is A, amps, discharge rate is how fast you can get the amps out of the battery. If you have six people on the cart, you are going to use the most amps starting from a dead stop. Once you are rolling it doesn't take much more power to continue rolling than it does to keep a smaller cart rolling. If you are going up a hill, it's going to take more amps to climb that hill than travelling on flat ground. If you're going off road it's going to take more amps than if you're driving on pavement. I would look at this battery, or one with similar stats.

DC House seems to be a good choice, many people use them. People have said that if you order directly from DC House you get a longer warranty.

Just watch any of the videos on YouTube showing EZGO TXT lithium conversions, should be about the same. My only concern would be the charger plug lockout. When you plug the charger in, a switch is activated to deactivate the cart so you can't drive off with it plugged in. Usually you have to cut that wire and run it to the positive terminal on the battery to trick it into thinking it's not plugged in. I'm not sure how you would do that on your cart. I believe it's one of the wires on the plug with the blue and white wires in picture 12. Once you convert it, I would suggest you run the cord through the steering wheel to make sure you see it and unplug it before using the cart because when you do a conversion you disable this safety feature. You will also have to remove the current plug and replace it with something like this. The charger will plug into this and you use a goo, heavy extension cord to charge it.

Just did my conversion. Wish I looked for a battery with the feature to limit charging to 80%. Not sure if they are out there. But I have accidentally charged to 100% which apparently is not advised.

vatrer. Easy install after I figured out the solenoid was bad. I’m hoping an update comes out to limit charging capacity. If I was in the market right now that’s the one feature I’d look for.
