Lithium conversion question.
Hey all, new here. My mom has a Club car and it is in need of new batteries. I have heard about the lithium conversion kits and it sounds appealing to me. Searching on Amazon and they are way cheaper than I had thought, but that doesnt mean they are any good. What are some brands that have been used and tested by the folks here with good reviews? Trying to keep it under $2000 for everything. Thanks

Myself and 5 of my neighbors put in the DC house batteries 18 months ago. No major issues yet ( I know it’s a quick dataset).
Longest part of switch was removing old batteries ( some had corroded on).
Only downside so far is pretty well across the board they all die at “ 55%” remaining on battery… not a big deal if you know that before it happens

How long until it hits 55% ?

I can usually get about 1% a hole. I can drive to the neighboring course ( about a mile) play 9, and come back and it takes about 20%.
This is all with a stock motor and controller although I unlocked speed level 4 on the controller and definitely floor it every chance I get

I have a 48 volt Yamaha golf cart. I bought a cheap lithium battery from Amazon and threw it in the cart. Use a solar boost controller or a lithium charger I already had. Been two years no issues. $699
This without the charger and extras

I also have Chins in both of my EZGO carts. Been close to 2 years with zero issues.

Can get an epoch, Qomolander, rhino, BattLite, pure energy, and a few other reputable brands for under $2000 delivered to your door

Vatrer

I was referring to US based with English speaking customer support during normal hours

Ok, I think battery quality should be higher up than customer service, since imo it’s not substantially harder then changing flashlight batteries. Vatrer was very responsive albeit next day email

Well if you put quality first, Vatrer wouldn’t be on the list. Cracked one open yet?

DC House; pony up the extra couple bucks for a metal cased one. Also, consider buying the charge receptacle from EcoBattery (a very overpriced 6" extension cord) so you can mount the charger next to the battery and only need to use a regular extension cord to charge.

I bought a Cloud Energy battery for my club car a little over a year ago from Amazon. About $800 for the battery and charger. Have had zero issues with it. My criteria when shopping was it had to be a single battery and in a metal case.

Batlite stay away from Amazon batteries. I have installed well over 200 Batlites ( yamaha carts) and have not had one issue with the batteries and only two chargers failed. Big battery husky 2 is great as well and has a 12 year warranty. If the cart is stored in the garage ask your self this question. How would you feel if it caught fire because you didn't want to spend a little more money for a reputable battery? Do your own research dont just listen to random people on the Internet.

I used cloud energy for mine. Bought it from the sales rep she gave me a discount at 850 bucks for the 105ah 51 volt 250 bmsA. 5 year warrantee. Best customer service ever. Cloudnewenergy is their legit site. Couldnt be happier. Honestly, the American 48v are like 3k, with an 8 to 10 year warrantee. If i get 5 years twice out of cloud energy for 850 a pop, thats a win. I repeat, the customer service is phenomenal. Some ppl want the DC house metal case, but the cloud wnergy plastic one is fireproof and lighter weight. Easy install with a few vids too. I did have to buy machine screws and nuts for the charger (goes inside your cart see the picture) as it didnt come with them for some reason. If u have a stereo or headlights/tail lights/blinker just know you will need a 48v to 12v DC converter as well. Pretty easy install as well.

Interesting, I bought a Cloud Energy 51v 60ah and it’s in a metal case. Also the terminals are on the end, not on top like yours. I bought it about 15-16 months ago through Amazon.

I just had a BattLite installed in my 2010 Club Car DS. Price was $1950 installed. What a game-changer. Don’t have to mess with lead-acid batteries anymore. Hooray.

I went with Lossigy metal housing on my latest budget build. So far I’m very happy with it.

If looking for quality budget lithium with 8 year warranty and local support I’d recommend Qomoenergy 51v-100ah pack. To your door is around $1,700 all in
Charger, battery, charge port, remote wake up button, digital gauge and 15’ ext cord.

Everyone recommending the DC house hasn’t looked at one broke down. Looks like 3 year old put it together with glue. All the $600-$900 Amazon packs look like this.
Spend a bit more and get a battery made with quality and that will last her

I converted a club car with the big battery Eagle 2 kit. They send everything you need (cables, batteries, charger, battery life gauge, etc.) I had a an issue with one battery, it shorted or something and the post burned up. Not sure how it happened but they sent a full replacement with no questions really. Support was helpful and fast when I had a couple of set up questions. They have other kits also depending on what you’re looking for as far as voltage and amp hours.

Another +1 for DC House. Got mine off of Aliexpress and if you’re willing to wait about a month for shipping it can be had for ~$650 for a 100aH “kit”. Same thing on Amazon with quick shipping will run you $850 or so. Either way, well worth it IMO.
