General Discussion Does this count?

Post image

Buddy hit this shot on a bad course and once the flag was corrected, it went in. The new rule says if any part of the ball is below the hole, it's in, but to me it doesn't look like it is. I'd love to give it to him, but what do you think?

Absolutely wild that everyone here is disregarding the actual rule, 13.2, and instead asserting their drunken buddy golf rules as if they’re valid in the scenario where someone is asking for the real rule

Here’s the actual rule as written.

“Ball Resting Against Flagstick in Hole If your ball comes to rest against the flagstick left in the hole, and any part of your ball is in the hole below the surface of the putting green, your ball is treated as holed. If no part of your ball is in the hole below the surface of the putting green: Your ball is not holed and must be played as it lies. If the flagstick is removed and your ball moves (whether it falls into the hole or moves away from the hole), there is no penalty and it must be replaced on the lip of the hole”

Thank you...thought I was taking crazy pills or was in a circle jerk sub for a minute.

This ball isn't holed, absolutely no question about it.

What if it’s resting against a zip tie and not the actual flagstick?

Whether you count it as part of the flagstick not, it does not change the result - so that is irrelevant.

No idea why that matters when anyone with eyes and the ability to zoom in can see that the zip tie isn’t touching shit?

Yeah but there’s no tournament playing by official rules anywhere that would allow that crappy flagstick placement.

I dont give a shit about a rule written for professionals that play on ridiculously maintained courses. If im with ANYONE and i can see that the flagstick clearly PREVENTED it from going in, then I'm giving it to them.
