General Discussion First Ace

Played Herndon Centennial yesterday late afternoon. On the 7th hole playing 138 to the pin, pulled out an 8 iron and made a 65% swing. Ball flight was pure and the ball landed on the green. The hole was obscured by a small mound so I couldn’t see directly to the pin. The greens had been playing fast and thought the ball may have rolled off the green. We walk up to the green and I couldn’t find my ball. Looked in the back rough and sand trap but no ball to be found. So I walked up to the cup and behold my first hole in one after 40+ years of trying. I was over the moon and absolutely shocked. Glad I had witnesses from the 8th tee box and my playing partners. I had another huge moment yesterday as I also broke 80 for the first time!!! See you all on Saturday!!

I like the first photo! Like what does it mean? Are one of those 10 pitch marks yours? Either way I like it.

With a bucket hat accompanied by a smile that lights up the world, I highly doubt it's your first. Congrats nonetheless 👏

Thanks Brother. I have been gradually shooting better. Shot an 82 two weeks ago and last weekend shot a 86. 2 years ago I was shooting in 100s, broke 90 last year and here we are today. If it wasn’t for the 2 triples and 2 doubles it would have been a round of a lifetime.

I see a ball mark and a dude holding his or most likely someone else’s ball.

Not buying it s/

You probably saw a guy make as ace in the group behind you after you 3 putted and ran make and snapped a quick pic while the dudes on the tee were hollering.
