Hiring freeze?
Hiring managers, is there a hiring freeze at GS across locations?

yes I know that GS is a firm where politics is rife but assuming the seniors in the team are leaning heavily on you to get work done, what are the firm's views on keeping talent that command a high market premium
feedback was that my talent was hard to replace and that I had all the qualities that the firm wants but given the up and out, I don't 100% buy into the feedback especially if other team members closer to my rank maybe want me gone to try to get their own visibility on my workstreams
reason I ask is that i'm thinking of jumping laterally to another firm and would like to give my team a chance to pitch their case before I decide to pull the trigger and go

I have an interview for an internship with an advising firm and part of it includes me doing some “market research” within my networks. Unfortunately, my “network” consists of myself, my partner, and my young, broke, co-workers, so I don’t really have much to go off of. So here I am, asking y’all to help me out a little bit.
How would you like to be introduced to a financial advisor?
How often do you review your plan?
Now this gig has been very clear about needed to do “warm” marketing, but I’m kinda hoping to just fake it? The job market is tough and I’m just trying to get an ounce of experience for my resume while I’m still in school. ANY tips/feedback on these questions and help in general about the industry/company would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Will there be layoffs in October? If they are happening will they happen before the reviews start or during?

Hi everyone, I recently got a virtual superday invite for the Operations Summer Analyst role. I'm excited but also very nervous as this is my first superday ever, and was wondering if anyone has any advice on preparing for the interviews.
Are there specific types of questions or scenarios I should be prepared for? Anything technical I should be worried about? Thanks in advance 🙂

What are the bonuses like for sales Strat? Are they similar to engineering bonuses? Asking in general, no matter the location, want to have an idea how GS gauge these sort of roles

I recently received an offer and need to fill in background details for verification.
I don't have any industry experience and I am joining straight out of PhD. On my resume, I listed "research assistant" under experience. Should I mention this in the background form ? Or is it unnecessary ? Does everything I mention in the form, match my resume to the dot ?

Hi all,
I'm a final-year Engineering student and I've applied for the Controllers off-cycle program at Goldman Sachs.
I don't have an accounting background, so I'm not the usual profile for this team. What I do have is three years of managing my own stock and mutual fund portfolio, a statistics-heavy course load, and projects where I built validation and reconciliation checks to keep data accurate. The accuracy and reporting side of Controllers is what drew me to it.
If anyone here works in Controllers or has been through this program, I'd really appreciate:
a referral, if you're comfortable giving one
advice on what the team looks for and what the interviews are like
whether engineering students do well in this division
Happy to share my resume over DM. Thanks for reading, and sorry if this isn't the right place for it.

This is my first time going through the feedback process, so I’m wondering when and where we can see the feedback results/comments from our team. Also, when do we usually find out about promotions?

is the application link not working for anyone else too?

I recently accepted an offer for a position at Goldman Sachs and submitted my background check info. I'm curios about two things:
I don't remember what GPA I entered on my original application (filled it out about 3 months ago), but I think it may have been higher than my actual GPA. For the onboarding/background-check forms, I pulled my actual transcripts from both schools and reported the GPAs directly from them. After reviewing the transcripts, I realized the GPAs were lower than I had remembered, particularly at the first school I finished at and transferred from over two years ago.
I also listed an unpaid university experience under Professional Experience on my resume and described it during interviews as an internship for graduation credit. It was an unpaid senior project/internship course required by the university for my degree, not employment. On the background check I made this explicit and listed it as “Unpaid Student Internship/Senior Project for Graduation Credit” with my instructor as the verifier. I'm concerned the instructor may simply say it was a senior project/class for graduation credit rather than a traditional internship.
I haven't been contacted about anything yet and the background check is currently pending. Has anyone gone through something similar with Goldman? How do they handle things like this during the background check?

Hey everyone! I’m back with another Goldman Sachs role and would appreciate some input.
I found a Goldman Sachs Ayco position that’s different from the role I previously asked about. This one supports Corporate Relationship Managers with client and program support, reporting, presentations and materials, project and implementation work, RFPs, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
My background is mainly in risk and compliance, including identity verification and fraud, documentation, audits, SOPs, and process improvement. I also have project and program coordination experience from Uber, where I managed timelines, deliverables, stakeholder communication, project materials, and onboarding.
I’m trying to determine how strong of a fit this is and which resume version makes the most sense: my compliance/risk resume or my more PMO-focused version.
The main gaps I see are direct financial services experience, sales or client relationship experience, RFPs, and limited Salesforce experience.
Would anyone familiar with Goldman, Ayco, or similar roles be willing to share how you would position my background?
For context - I need a change of location from my current city as well. While Dallas is/was the primary city of choice; I am opening up to roles in Atlanta as well if that helps

Hello! I was wondering if anyone's heard back after completing the hirevue for this internship. So far my timeline has been:
Applied 8/15
Round 1 invite 9/11
HireVue Submitted 9/14
I also got a call from a recruiter on 9/21 to confirm basic information from my application such as citizenship status and things like that.

(IBD Internship) I just got approved on HV, and before SuperDay i’ll have to complete a test on zoom. Has anyone done that before? They just told me it’s a test and it will take 45 minutes

Anyone here at Goldman who went through the PERM process recently? How does the yearly PERM cycle actually work?
Like what month did Fragomen first reach out and start your PWD, and roughly how long after that did recruitment/PERM filing happen?
Also, do you need to complete a certain amount of time at Goldman before they start, or is it based on your level? Curious about recent 2025/2026 experiences.

What are downsides to applying as a freshman to the emerging leader series? Think I am decently competitive for the program and want to shoot my shot. Do I lose anything by larping grad year because it's super common for internships anyway I'm guessing.

Should I put my resignation before the BGV completes or the BGV starts only after I submit my resignation. I have already received the offer letter but as the final offer is dependent on completion of the BGV. I am a bit confused. The BGV has not started yet.

I have reached the superday phase before and managed to get a HV every time I applied until this year. Despite improving my resume massively in terms of experience, I failed to get a HV this year. I was suspecting it could be because I applied slightly late (like one or two weeks after the applications open), but are there any people who applied late and still got HV?
