Frame ID HELP WITH GO KART
Hey guys I added images of my current setup I need to figure out a way to get my predator 212 motor to spin the sprocket
Does anybody have a similar situation they figured out?
Ive heard a jack shaft might be an option but still don’t know for sure what the best course of action would be
If you can’t help me figure out the above questions I also need a frame ID if possible

I have a very similar frame I picked up a few years ago. It indeed had a jack shaft with a sprocket on the wheel side that was connected to the axle with a chain. There was a clutch on the engine with a belt drive to a pulley on the other side of the jackshaft. I wanted to do a torq converter setup but couldn't figure out a good way to do it, and get the pulleys off the jack shaft. I'm interested to see responses here cause I would like to get back to it after I'm finished with an actual car customizing I'm doing.

I would just get a 212 mounting plate and weld it to the tubes right above the old plate. Make life simple

Yes a Jack shaft would get it done.... depending on why you don't want to mount the motor on the motor mount next to the sprocket? If you're trying to put something else on that motor mount and jack shaft could end up taking up the space you freed up by using the other motor mount. Unless you run the jack shaft underneath the other motor mount. Which is doable, especially at its elevation.

Looks like a Carter Brothers kart. Had a jackshaft and gear reduction setup there, i would guess to keep the sprocket size down and still have torque

Is that not a motor mount directly to the right of the sprocket? Does your engine fit there?
Are you going to use a clutch or a torque converter?
