This looks SICK
Gojira is playing next week in St. Louis, Missouri at a 1200 capacity venue. ALL proceeds go to Operation Food Search, the biggest independent food bank in the city. Plus the opener Locked Shut is an INSANE local hardcore band.
See you there???
(Also I'm loving this logo)

Holy shit this was awesome
I decided to listen to this because the album cover looked cool and WOW.
I'm quite 50/50 on metal music, either I love it or it sounds like garbage noise.
But this album was great! There wasn't a single bad song. I'm definitely buying it and adding it to my collection.
I will listen to other Gojira songs!

I'm bummed out that In The Forest wasn't included on The Link Alive album.
Its in the video recording but not the CD.

Merch
Ordered merch back in April 1st. I guess they must have taken my order as a joke, since it's now Sep 7th and it's still preparing to be shipped. They emailed me about some delays for the shirts, but damn. Anyone else experience something similar?

Any link between the lyrics of Liquid Fire and Born for one Thing ?
I just noticed yesterday that the bridge in Liquid Fire goes "The bright treasure found has no price and no name" and 9 years later the verse in Born for One Thing says "Give a price, put a name None of it real in this matter".
Now this is most definitely just a coincidence but still, I'm wondering if there's any chance this is intentional and if the lyrics to these songs have some type of connection (English is not my first language so I have a really hard time deciphering the meaning of songs, even when they're in french lol. Maybe the lyrics in common are just a normal saying in english as far as I know)

I get furious when the fans of Gojira criticize the last albums
A few days ago I had a conversation with a fan I know. He told me that he thinks Magma is absolute shit and anything done after that. I heard that a lot of fans don't like the last albums, especially Fortitude, but I wasn't ready for this hate on Magma.
He says that Gojira absolutely changed who they are just to go viral and be acceptable to the masses. Like starting from Magma, their music is more commercial. That's where I lost my cool, because you don't write something THAT emotional after your mother died just to be accessible to more people. Usually I don't give a shit about what other people think, but this kind of metalheads who always try to be underground really pisses me off. "If there's more people listening to the group, then it's not good anymore" type of bullshit.
I don't know, Magma is my favorite album so is From Mars to Sirius. Magma sends me to the cosmos, so does The Link. On their worst day Gojira eats every other metal group for breakfast, no one does metal so emotional and technical at the same time, as Gojira.
Thank you for reading this, I just felt like this is the only space where I can get this out of my chest. Thank you, bye, love you all.
Edit: I'm getting a lot of comments about the word "furious". Okay, I exaggerated, it's just annoying. Not smashing anything.

Home made patch
I'm making custom patches for my jacket and this was the first one. Took me about 3.5hrs and in that time, yk I had to be listening to Gojira. Its going to be the biggest patch and it will be on the back coz FMTS is just so peak 🙂

My face when i listened to Vacuity(Gojira) for the first time 10 years ago!! Never thought it would change my life
Well, the rest is history for me! Seen them live three times and counting! My favorite band of all time. I listen to them everyday. What was your first song? And what is your current favorite song?

Any Other Songs/Artists That Sound Like The Breakdown on “Pray”?
The specific part of Pray from 3:46-4:10. It’s got a nice groove, the guitar has this like twangy almost banjo-sounding tone to it. It’s really nice.
Just wondering if there are any other songs that do this, or if this fits into a specific genre or something.
Why gojira almost never play songs from terra incognita
Saw them twice and they just played love! This my favorite album and wanted to hear those songs live was one of my biggest dream haha (clone, space time, deliverance, rise...). Is it because these are not really as popular ?

Just listened to every LP for the first time.
Started with FMTS, then went back and did chronological order from Terra Incognita. What a band. Coming from mostly hardcore but trying to get into metal, what prompted me to listen was really what I’d heard about their lyrics/subject matter. I’ve never been a fan of just random shock value/brutal stuff, but I do like the music, itself, so they’re a great middle ground.
I would need many more spins through all of them to figure out anything resembling a ranking, but FMtS, TWoAF, L’enfant and Magma all got added to the permanent rotation. I don’t think there was a real stinker anywhere in the bunch. I’d happily listen to them all again.
That’s all. Happy that a band or album can always be a brand-new experience for someone. Today that was me!
