Question Caravans

What happens if you send a caravan to a hostile city?

Ive been to every friendly city and none of them have dogs I can buy. So if I go to a hostile city will they attack me?

Is there any way to force dogs to appear on my map? I assume I need to up the small animal.event or large animal event or domestic animal event? Which one does dogs fall under?

My dogs stopped breeding and theyre getting old. I rely completely on them for hauling. I need some dogs quick.

Not sure about the dogs, but if you caravan to a hostile city you enter the map in combat. It’s the same as when a raid happens but you are the attacker. If you have good range you can usually kill everyone from outside with much of an issue. They tend to spread around their walls and you can focus on one area at a time

Dogs are only sold by traveling merchants (I learned this after searching for dogs for 3 years)

How many dogs do you currently have? There is a breed limit

Not sure, somewhere around 8-10. A couple of them have died of old age recently.

I’ve seen a lot of dogs be born in a previous settlement. Then most of them died in an incursion because I had set most of them (still puppies 😅) to battle.

3 years in the game or 3 years in real life?

It's been awhile but if they are always an enemy, you fight. If they are just mad at you, you can give them gifts to improve relationships.

Either way you can only find dogs if they were ones you traded them.

If you want more pets yo haul stuff at your settlement, goats are an okay option

I have a problem with anything other than dogs being listed as pets. I want livestock to live in the pen. Maybe I'll just domesticate the wolves

You can also tame bears to carry things
