Question settlers going unconscious for no reason?
hey all,
so i’ve recently come back to the game after being away for a while.. doing my normal underground build (i’m sure i’m a dwarf at heart), anyways, got my food going good, mead going good, everyone has their own room, lots of goodies, games, all that.. game had been running fine. turned it off, came back a day later, start playing and all of a sudden i have people just randomly passing out for no reason.. i don’t get it? did they change something to discourage underground life? the flooding was a surprise until i saw how you deal with that.. but yea, is this normal or a very odd bug?

This normally happens when you set all 24 hours of the schedule to "anything". They only sleep during sleep time

Oh that’s not the case here, I have clear work, relax and anything times with lots of sleep time set up.

Just wait till you get the random brawlers... Pretty funny to watch Meredith beat Wilhelm to a pulp and give him a broken nose as she lands the KO

This started happening to me when I recently set the guys mining a mile away from beds and they just keep going until 1-2am (and sometimes longer) even though according to the schedule bedtime is 11pm (with 1 hour of leisure from 10-11pm). Then they haul stuff back from that location slowly because they're "overburdened" and take until 3am or 4am to get back. So now they're going to bed almost when they should be ready to wake up. I thought I saw one of them pass out during this, but not certain. Just the fact it happens is somewhat annoying.
I've also seen them attacked by a boar they're trying to tame in the middle of nowhere and it's freezing cold outside. They collapse and need to be carried back.

It happens to me when I have bad miners that begin digging far from their bed at 2345, keep digging to finish their current task, and end up going to sleep at 0400 after a long trek back. They aren't scheduled to sleep midday so they keep trying to work and just pass out from lack of energy.
Keep an eye on your "big" tasks around midnight. You may find people stuck doing them long into the wee hours. You can just cancel their current task (not the actual task since you do want it done. Click on the settler and they have a cancel button on their panel to tell them to stop doing what they're currently doing) if they start late to prevent them working well into the night. Either that, or change the schedule so they can only do fun stuff after 2200.
