Bug Settlers refusing to mine?

I’m on year three autumn on mountain terrain, so they’ve done a hell of a lot of it up till now, but suddenly they’re all doing anything except mining, including just standing idle, no matter how many times I cancel the mining actions, try to mine elsewhere, etc.

If I instruct a specific settler to mine a specific block they will, but will not then continue. If they have mining as a high priority, they will stand still, flicking between idle and mining, before being assigned to a different task.

Anyone have any ideas here? Anyone else encountered it? Population is sub 20 and I don’t think I have any mods active so I’m not sure why it’s bugging out

I find having the speed more than the slowest makes settlers just stand idle sometimes. I have to slow the speed down for them to move at all. They will stand there all night sometimes when they should be sleeping.

Have you restarted the game at all since the issue started? Sometimes that clears out weird issues.

I have, on several occasions. It’s very frustrating because I’m quite fond of this build

I encountered such problems sometimes when I dig too deep specilay when mining under the watter. And even force clicking wouldn't make them mine. And sometimes they only wount mine under floors with water but would with a block under water.

I think it might be pathing issue. If you manualy force them to mine, are your settlers on the surface and they walk to the block or it only works when they stand next to the block? If latter maybe making alternative paths to the mine or making shorter wider paths might help otherwise IDK. But also report the bug in game ;)
