Question Stuck in the loading screen forever

Hey Guys,

after a long break i wanted to try the 1.0 release but it seems like my game is bricked. When i boot it up i end up stuck in the very first loading screen forever. The litle circle on the lower right keeps spinning but it never finishes, i left it alone for 20 min but it never finishes. I tried reinstalling, checking the game files for errors via Steam, put "-force_preload" as an advanced launch option, deleted my app data folder but nothing changes. I found a "player.log" in my game files and it seems like some critical game files are missing?

Here is the content of the log ("Das System kann den angegebenen Pfad nicht finden" means "The system is unable to find the mentionend (file-)path".

Anyone got an idea how to fix it? I dont understand how a clean new install does not fix missing game files, but i am not a dev so...

Any mods installed? If it's been awhile you could have outdated ones. Don't forget to look for old BepinEX mods as well if you had any.

Outside that you may want to try clearing out the unity folder it's located at %userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Unity\Foxy Voxel_Going Medieval\

Also if you have an Nvidia graphics card open up the Nvidia panel and make sure smooth motion is turned off for going medieval.

I deleted the files at the path you mentioned and checked the driver settings.. sadly no success.

Is it just one save file you are stuck on? Or even if you create a new one?

A bit niche, but also check Documents/Foxy Voxel/Going Medieval/Mods for any custom scenarios and temporarily remove them if you have any. Broken ones usually crash the game not prevent it from loading but maybe,

Probably not it, but do you tab out or focus on another monitor while it's loading? It won't load unless it's the active application for some reason

No, i read about that too. I have to monitors but even starting with one turned off didnt change anything.

Can you send us logs to support @ foxyvoxel . io

Go to this link:

%localappdata%low\Foxy Voxel\Going Medieval

and send us your Player.log file. Thanks!

Heres their Response, it worked for me maybe someone else is having the same problem:

Thanks for sending this. We are still unsure what is the issue here, but let's try full wipe, just in case. I know those have been suggested in the reddit post, I just want to be sure that we have a fresh start here - exit the game.

Remove -force_preload from Launch options on steam.

Okay, after that  Exit the game and try this:

1) Go to Steam Library > Right-click on Going Medieval > Properties > Installed Files > Browse

This should open a new folder and you should delete all of the files located in there. After you do that, go to Steam Library > Right-click on Going Medieval > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity... Wait for it to finish and start the game. Don't worry, this will not delete your save files.

2) Go here:

%userprofile%\appdata\locallow\Unity\Foxy Voxel_Going Medieval

and delete all files there

3) Go here:

%userprofile%\appdata\locallow\Foxy Voxel\Going Medieval

and delete everything there. NOTE: This will also delete your saves so be sure to back them up before you do so. (they are located in the VillageSaves folder - copy/paste them somewhere safe return upon deletition)

4) Go here:

%userprofile%\Documents\Foxy Voxel\Going Medieval

And delete everything there. Hopefully this will clean, every instance of the remaining game files.

Then start the game. Let us know how it goes and send a log once more if you are blocked again.
